Z.N.S just announced that Cedric Gibson Jr. has died after being ill.

He was 29 years and a reporter in Grand Bahama.

This is so shocking, the last time I saw him he looked so well.

yes it is soo sad! Cedric was a most promising young journalist, and one of the most proper speaking of all on zns! He will be surely missed with his trademark signoff "im cedric Gidson junior for ZNS news" may his soul rest in peace!

I know I have not seen him reporting these last few weeks!

The last time for me was reporting the day before the original scheduled date for New Years Junkanoo in Freeport.

What the hell happened?!

No disrespect to you Exotic, but I think our reluctance to talk about this subject matter shows we still have a long way to go in dealing with the stigma associated with the young man's illness.

Oh he will rest in peace my friend but what I don't agree with is that society should keep quiet about a death from "AIDS" if that is what caused his death. People should know that they too are at risk particularly young people and those who have multiple partners and don't use protection.

Let them know that they too can get this thing not matter age, sexual preference, gender, it does not discriminate. Seeing that he was in the public eye it would be an even greater opportunity to show people what can happen to them.

If his family agrees I would turn this death into a positive thing, don't let him have died in vain.

We need to stop hiding AIDS when people die of it or its symptoms!!!!!

Mind u it's not a reluctance to talk about his illness, it just pissed me off that someone would post that they wanted the 411 on his illness... Come on have respect for the dead there have been no reports released as to what illness he had... At this time we can only speculate... No need to smear or seemingly smear his name unless it can be proven... I actually did not know him personally, I just really feel for his family... Do any of us have any idea how hard it's going to be on his parents... As a mom myself I can only imagine what it must be like to bury a child!!

It would be unfair for anyone to say what was the cause if death, if you do not know. It is wrong to post rumors and gossip regarding this situation.

So how many persons that died from AIDS had it broadcasted to the general public... As long as u are a person engaging in unprotected sex, u are at risk... People need to protect themselves period...Stop sleeping with multiple partners!!! Understand this now, persons being treated for the AIDS virus have their privacy protected by law... That is the issue that needs to be addressed... I personally think persons diagnosed with this deadly disease should be made to reveal their partners even if someone from the clinic calls the people to tell them they have had unprotected sex with a person with AIDS... WHEW NOW DAS MY 5 CENT..

Exotic behave nah. Everyone in Grand Bahama who knew the young man knew of his illness. If you or others didnt know thats fine and to be expected, but it wasnt a secret here and while we dont need to get into dragging him through the mud over his lifestyle, that doesnt mean that people need to act like they dont know what was known.
