View Full Version : It Takes a Thief.
Anyone every watch the program "It Takes A Thief?” It is on every week day at 4.00pm on the Discovery Channel (25 in Nassau.)
It is scary to see how easy it is to “clean out” a house! And how our carelessness plays right in the hands of the thief. They can clean you out in under twelve minutes!!!
Show is on now. Watch it!

Not in the Bahamas.
Not in the Bahamas.
I would not count on that but I know what you mean! Lol! My late sister’s house was robbed some years ago. She left to drop the kids to school. She was gone for twenty minutes (traffic was not so bad in those days.) When she got home $8,000 worth of stuff was gone!!!!

Who knows? A “good” thief is never seen! It is like he is invisible! Also, we all know that around school time many houses are empty! They also know that many people with alarm systems never turn them on. I know a number of people with alarm systems. I would say half never use them. Some don't even remember the codes!!!!!!

They probably get to the house an hour or two later than they said they would, when the people are already home!! :D
You all suggesting that Bahamians are too slow witted, to lazy to do a house breaking? I am told that there was a home invasion at Old Fort today, so I guess it can be done. Old Fort is gated, has security (obviously not enough) but it is better than most would have - only security is a potcake in the front yard!
I am trying to point out how careless we are when it comes to our security. I almost got hit a few weeks ago, I posted about it.

Far from it, they happen almost every day in Nassau.
they was watching her!
Could be, but are they watching you? Or any of us?
Many bad guys just drive around until the find a likely target - no car in the drive way, windows closed. They knock on the front door and if some one answers they say they are looking for Mr. Jones house “I believe it is on this street!” If no one answers their knock they get to “work.”

probably so, that's life---someone always watching you!
the difference is, my guard is up...play if you want to...I always have a weapon on me!
People just need to keep their eyes open and ears listening!

Glad to hear it but you need to watch the show if it is available were you live.
The problem the show tries to point out is that the trouble does not happen when you are there, it happens when you leave your house. Last week they showcased a lady who lived in a nice, middle class house with neighbors close by, alarms and burglar screens on the windows etc. Yet the burglars hired by the show were able to find a weak spot and get into the house. In 9 minutes and 32 seconds were able to rip her off to the tune of $92.000+ including her car!
