View Full Version : Prove the Quran is/is not the word of God!
Rizzo 11-24-04, - 10:40 AM Sensing so many members targeting the Christian faith, I call on these members to now look at other faiths such as Islam.
To those unfamiliar with Islam and the Quran, it is believed that the Quran is a record of the exact words revealed by God through the Angel Gabriel, to the Prophet Muhammad. (This sounds a bit familiar to the Mormon faith doesn't it  ) Now in comparison to the Christian faith, Islam was far more barbaric and extreme in regards to its regulations and consequent punishments for disobedience, and they are still being practised today, with their oppression against women, and mutilation as penalties, for contradictions to the faith.
Now having heard this, and knowing that Islam/Mohammedanism it is sometimes called, is one of the top "religions" in the world, supposedly holding 1/5 of the world's population as followers, can anyone prove to followers that the Quran is not the word of God? And if there are any members who are followers of Islam, can you prove that it is?

I don't see myself as a follower of any religion. I believe that religion has become the great segregator of the new age. I see myself as a follower of God sent here to learn His holy way. I have been studying Islam, and I am going to break it down for you. First of all, do not call Islam Mohammedanism. That word (Mohammedanism) is a term westerners used because they thought that Muslims worshipped the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) like Christians worshipped Jesus (may peace and blessings be upon him), which they don't. Calling their religion that is a slap in the face to them. They don't follow man, they follow God. The very word Islam means submission to God. A Muslim is one who submits to God. Another thing, the religion of Islam does not call for nor does it support oppression against women or the mutilations of persons. This, my friend comes from Arab culture. Never intertwine culture and religion. The Quran actually calls for the man to work for the rest of his natural life for his wife and family. Muslims believe this, God brought his message upon the world through His Prophets and through religion. Each time man started to bend religion for his own personal benefit, God sent the angel Gabriel (Jibreel is his name in Arabic) to a new Prophet with the same message with additions in order to lead the people back on the path to God. The Quran mentions all of the Prophets by name to include Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon them) as the men who are to bring the message of God to the people. The Quran even states that Jesus is not dead and that God is holding him in Heaven (Paradise as Muslims call it) to fight the anti-Christ and to bring us all back to God. He (Christ) will unite the religions and stop the eating of pork (for what reason it doesn't say). The Quran states that Jesus will return just as the Mahdi has reunited the Muslims and Jesus will join them in reunitung the world under God. It is also written that man will forget the Torah, the Bible and the Quran after the true believers have been united under God and after the anti-Christ has been defeated and after Christ has finally taken a wife and has lived out his four score (73 years) as the Lord God has promised us all.
Is the Quran the word of God? I believe so just as the Torah and the Bible are the words of God. Is Muhammad His last Prophet to the world? Yes he is. Is God still sending messengers to the world? I believe He is and will continue until the Last Day. Just think as the Torah, Bible and Quran as the rules you were given, the example you are to follow and the final revelation from God to the rest of the world.
And a PS to you, Islam was not the most barbaric religion in the world. Christianity (as you worldly men want to practice it) was. These new age Christians used the word of God for atrocities such as the Crusades, the forced conversion of conqured people and the "Christianization" of black slaves in America. If you don't know what that was, let me tell you what it was. It was the beating, lynching and/or killing of black Africans, my ancestors, until they converted to man's version of Christianity. Even though it is forbidden to do so in your religion or in any religion for that matter.
Now that I have set the record straight, let's stop the bashing of the religious beliefs of others, ok. Instead of bashing each religion, learn it.
Rizzo 11-24-04, - 12:03 PM Firstly, I was not bashing the Islamic faith, I too have studied the faith and know all the things you speak of. I never said that Islam is Mohammedanism, is say it is sometimes called that. Let's not get too defensive here, you do not sound as someone who just studies Islam, you sound like you practice the faith as well, as hard as you're taking my comments. I also never said that it was the most barbaric religion, I said it's punishments for disobedience of it's regulations are far more barbaric, which involved mutilation and dismemberment. And they still practise this today!!! do you hear of Christians going around lynching anyone to become Christians?! but anyway this is not the direction I was heading towards with this point.
My point was that just as you belive that the Quran is the word of God, although as unbelievable as it may sound for an angel to appear to Mohammed to some people, it is your belief. And just as you pointed out, there are even connections between the bible and the Quran, as they mention all the prophets Abraham, Solomon, and even Jesus and Mary!! They hold Mary in high esteem. My point in this thread was to show the connection between the Quran and the bible, but unfortunately you could not see that!!! :realmad:
And in effect, the relativity of Islam to Christianity. But forget it you are too charged to see this through your thick head...
Oh and P.S. to you too.....
Islam has just as much notoriety, if not more for coercing people to conform to their faith, you speak of black slaves in the West, but tell me something....do you know of Mohammed marrying a 9 yr old girl? Having sex with her even though her little womb was not even formed yet? (causing RECTOVAGINAL FISTULA). Do you know of the passage in the Quran which states “When you meet in battle those that disbelieve, smite them in the neck until you have laid them low, causing great slaughter
among them, then draw tight the fetters...” Surah 47:4
or the excerpt [38.44] And take in your hand a green branch and beat her (your wife) with It and do not break your oath;
And do you know of prophet mohammad beheading followers of other religions for not converting to islam, such that in the case of the Bani Quraizeh tribe, after they surrendred following a war (with mohammad's army), it was ordered (by mohammad) that 900 of their men and youth be beheaded, and their property was taken as war booty, their women and children as slaves, and devided among the themselves. There are countless accounts of murders under Muhammed's own bidding, so do not charge me with your slandering comments! I support killing and violence against others in no manner as I have stated in me previous posts and I respect all people who agree to the same, regardless of their faith.
I too am a descendant of Black africans as my great-grandmother was one! This does not leave me blind towards evil done to others throughout the world! Next time keep to the topic and we won't have to go this route again!
Who's on the attack? I did not jump into your behind as you may feel. All I did is answer your question and if you couldn't see that then you my friend are blind. Also, Muhammad did not force anyone to convert whether through beheading or any other means. So do not slander the religion because you don't know the facts. Also, stop twisting the Quran. How would you like it if a Muslim twisted the Bible. Which I don't think you understand in the first place. Anyone can quote passages, but do you really know what they mean? If you truly did, you would not have to jump to conclusions.
Like I said before, I don't follow religion. I follow God. Get that straight right now, chief. Religion has become the great segregator of mankind. I bet that you see the war in the Middle East as a holy war too. Christian versus Muslim, Muslim versus Jew...NOT. It's man versus man. It's liberators versus oppressors. Do me a favor, don't ever come after me again like that, it's very disrespectful.
I take your comments as I do because I do not like seeing some man (or woman) bash anything containing the words of God. If I heard a man on the street questioning the word of God, I will say something. Also, did you see the connection I made to Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I did get the whole point of your exercise, chief. Don't ever dis my intelligence like that again, ok.
Oh yeah, the Prophet Muhammad did not engage in sexual relations with a 9 year old child, that Western thought was engrained into the heads of Westerners to make them think that Islam was a religion of pedophiles(sp). I am currently in the East (Iraq to be exact) and I am learning more and more about things that I already learned before, or so I thought that I've learned. I'm even learning more about Christianity, which I thought I once knew everything about being that my parents claim that they are Christians, since this is the region it was founded in. Judaism was founded here to you know.
I will ask you this: How do you know that the Bible is the word of God? What about the Torah? Do you think the Quran is the word of God? Do you believe in the Day of Judgement? Do you think Christianity is the chosen religion? Why or why not? What about Islam, Judaism? Do you believe in God? What about His prophets? Do you believe Adam was the first and Muhammad was the last? Do you believe that their teachings are valid for the world to learn? Do you believe that you can learn on your own or do you believe only what a preacher has taught you? Will you seek the right answers or will you just take what you are given and be content? Answer these questions within yourself. Post them if you like.
PS to you once more: This is not an attack, unless of course, you believe it to be.

Rizzo 11-25-04, - 09:07 AM You're saying alot of things that have already been said, and asking questions that have already been asked, and some by myself. But anyway, everything's cool, cuz I don't like to see posts stray from the point as this one started to. I rest my case in that all faiths have their writings and doctrines, and to try to prove to them that they are incorrect is virtually impossible, because it is a matter of faith. That was my point in the beginning and still is now.
Alien 11-26-04, - 01:35 PM what a refreshing topic!!
;)
Rizzo 11-26-04, - 01:39 PM I was hoping to get everyone off of the other recurring topics, to show them that they are targetting the same thing all the time. It hasn't had much effect yet though yk.....
parietal_03 11-27-04, - 03:08 PM They're ignoring it, probably because you've not been thorough enough-after all everything is your fault.
LOL, just kidding. I think they feel it's more of the same I suppose. Keep ya head up Rizzo, think of it as water off a duck's back.
