View Full Version : Delegate Counts..
nationbuilder 02-12-08, - 05:06 PM Anyone notice how all of the three major news networks have different delegate counts for Barak and Hillary, even though they can get the exact figures from the DNC? It shows just which side of the divide these media houses are on. Obama is leading Hillary in pledged delegates, but then they play with numbers of superdelegates to make the count say whatever they want it to say.

He is ahead and has been ahead...but the major television news stations are playing with the numbers. The reason I focus on them more than the newspapers is that people watch TV far more than they read.
And did you guys see Michelle Obama on Larry King last night? Now THATS a first lady right there if I ever saw one. Off the chains....

round_robbin 02-12-08, - 06:47 PM The news orgs are a bloody disgrace. I mean, when I turn on the news, they call the Obama/Clinton race- a dead heat. Bull shimmy. They aren't tied? So, how can it be a dead heat?
Fox News and MSNBC are the worse. What they BOTH do, is they count the allready pledged delegates, with the super delegates that are "estimated"...the estimate, almost puts Clinton ahead.
We all know before hand that the estimated winner, always is the media favourite because, people don't want to waste their vote on the loser and, people always want to be in the winner's circle- so it influences the entire election process. From supporters giving up, to pulling in people to the side of who wins.
CNN online, has thee most honest and up front delegate count to date.

nationbuilder 02-12-08, - 08:00 PM Hillary den roll out from the primary states tonight..showing once again she knows she is going to get wiped out.
And while she keeps harping on Texas, Penn and Ohio, the more she falls behind in delegates, the bigger she has to win these states in order to pull way ahead. Dont forget, she won CA, but the delegates got split almost equally..so while she won that huge state...she didnt walk away with way more delegates there than Obama.
Also, is she now trying to present herself as the "big state" candidate? She has 50 states and territories to campaign for in November. Right now she is presenting herself as one who is only interested in the big prizes.
Someone please remind her of the electoral college.

These superdelagates are going to be a problem for Obama, especially since Bill Clinton is one and Connecticut stripped Joel Lieberman of his superdelagate privelage.

No, the superdelegates will be a problem for the democrats if they wind up deciding who the nominee will be. Because if Obama goes to convention leading in pledged delegates (the people's vote) and then the superdelegates (politicians) give the nomination to Hillary, the republicans might as well start poppin the Moet from then..because scores of democrats and new people who came into the process for the first time are going to run hot and either stay home or vote for McCain in November.
Republicans: "The democrats betrayed their own supporters, what makes you think they wont betray America to their own self interests?"
all Obama gatta to do now is simple, in March Ohio Penslyviana, and Texas will vote and those delegates are plenty...he just needs to win 2 out of the 3 or stay close and he wins the nomination...the super delegates wont be a factor if he wins the pledge delegates and the popular vote, because the thinking is with him leading in the pledge delegates and the actual vote count, the super delegates will fall in line...
For Hillary, March 4th is her last stand...she needs to sweep him plus blow him out for her to get back in and we all know that aint going to happen...
the Dem party praying their super delegates dont have to pick the party's nominee, lol...they hoping this thing is wrapped up by March 4...
