Best-seller novelist Arthur Hailey has passed away in his sleep at his Lyford Cay home, Nassau, Bahamas. He was 84 years old and is said to have had a stroke. Mr. Hailey was married for 50 years to Sheila Hailey, also a best-seller author. He had six children.

Among the novels that he was best known for were “Hotel”, “Airport”, “Wheels” and “The Moneychangers”. Arthur Hailey’s last novel, “Detective”, was published in 1997.

According to John Marquis, Managing Editor of "The Tribune", Nassau, who has a lead story about Mr. Hailey in the "Tribune", November 26, accompanied by a fascinating feature about the late author on page 5, Mr. Hailey originated from Luton, England. He moved to Canada in 1947 then later made his home in the Bahamas.

Apparently, this great author wrote for publication up to the grand old age of 77. What a wonderful example for all aspiring writers!
