Terms such as 'liberal' and 'imperialism' are two thrown around a lot, even by the ignorant: Check out Manifest Destiny and you may see that the two terms are pretty much mutually exclusive. How could someone, even somewhat rational, claim a liberal can also be imperialistic?

aw... that's so sweet of bush, he really has a big heart... bullcrap.
it's publicity, all politicians do this crap. i hope it helps the people but it's all publicity stunt. These countries are often kept in their condition through his government's policies of neo-liberal imperialism. And Kanye is in fact wrong - bush doesn't hate black people, it's a class issue. He exploits the poor, like so many other like him.
GB:
in 8 years as President, how come Bush just remember Africa when he is a lame duck president? Why? its called Legacy Building....All American Presidents do this...In this last year they go places they have never been, almost all the time they go to places in the world where there are poor struggling people, pledge monies that they know the next president and congress will probably repeal...Its a game dude.
that money that his administration gave, i would bet, wasnt initiated by him, but probably was the US government honoring pledges and international agreements...All countries G-7 gives monies to 3rd world and developing countries, and when it suits their purposes they make it seem as if they initially extended the offer. Just like how the Bahamas begs for money and gifts from China and the EU, other countries do it as well, then the Chinese and the EU gets to turn around when it is convenient to them and say, "look we gave the Bahamas millions of dollars."
Lest we forget, the tragedy that is happening in Dafur and Sudan, this same G. W. Bush was severely criticized for basically standing by and not doing anything...That along with how badly he handled Katrina is what caused Kane West to say "Bush hates black people."
Its a fact, Bushes record in dealing with black nations especially ones in crisis, isnt good...All his attention was and still is in Iraq...
Amen & Amen!

Shrub is in the last few months of office; nothing he does will benefit him publicity wise, even helping out nations ravished by AIDS. His decision to aid the infected is generous. Contrary to your claim, the poorest of the poor such as AIDS infected africans are being aided by american donations, not exploited. For exploitation to happen, americans should allow the weak to die, and send the money to utilize the survivers of AIDS.
how can you say that?....the americans dont exploit the weak????...
what head twisting concoction have u been drinking?...take iraq for example...american foreign policy allowed sadam hussein to come into power( so they could have better oil deals from the middle east!. everyone kno bush, sadam and osama..worked together...osama had relations with the bush family oil company( g. w. bush himself was a top official in the company). Nah when all dem atrocities happened in iraq with sadam torturing his own ppl( as shown on national geographic a while back) where bush was den..why he een do nuthing THEN..all dem ppl who couldnt defend themselves were killed..that equals ..exploiting the weak
all the money that all the countries in this world invest in making nuckear weapons, military arms n so forth....i think all of that put together could feed and clothe and house and educate the poor ppl in the world

As I remember it,the US supported Saddam because he was at war with Iran. Guess what? After all is said and done.........it will take another barbaric man just like Saddam to paficy Iraq. Not understanding the Arab tribalistic mentality has been Bush's biggest downfall.
I hope the US has learned it's lesson concerning trying to be the world's Policeman. It all souds good until the cheapskate, arms dealing Europeans "especially the French and Russians" sit on their hands and do nothing. Bush was too stupid to see what he would do to his Country's economy by virtually fighting that war alone.
BTW/by anyone's research, the US is the most generous country in the world....period.:)

I dont think Iraq needs another barbaric man to lead them..they had enough of dat!!...what iraq needs is a man who will bring all the tribes together make dat country a nation. Divided they fall but together they stand stronger... I belive negative forces in iraq highlite and instigate tribal wars...not just in the middle east but all over the world to keep them down. I also believe these different tribes can still maintain cultural autonomy within the nation but still be one. we are all brothers and sisters and the current affairs in this world will keep goin down the drain untill ppl realize this and stop their petty wars. At the end of the day it doesnt benefit anyone. whether u dont belive in judgement day or not.. its a proven fact..what goes around comes around...like his majesty Haile SElassie said.. "today its us ,tommorow it will be you"

They don't deserve one but that is how it will end up. Multi-secular Arab Nations are far different than anything we know.
