I heard that no one can immigrate to Australia who is obese, or has a chronic disease. No AIDS. No diabetes, pressure, cancer etc. What you think about that? I understand that the government paid over 2 million for the late Desmond Key's medical bills. Money well spent?

I will be the first to say national health insurance doesnt work on any level - not in Canada, certainly wont happen in the USA, and absolutely never in a small country like the Bahamas. Cost scales will prevent it from happening here.

You just talking politics on behalf of the FNM who you support. The plan that exist in Canada do work for the most part. it's better than having nothing at all, which the Ingraham adminstration is not likely to implement anytime soon which is a grave disservice to the general poppulation of the Bahamas.

If Key's family had pulledthe plug then they would be unable to sue the police force or have those officers charged for murder... They actually wanted to pull the plug but were advised not to!!

Countries with national health tax heavily for the service. It is not free by any means. I do not think it is at all possible here in the Bahamas as you would have to implement an income tax to pay for it. a high one at that. In Sweden they take half your earnings to pay for government funded programs.

Whose willing to surrender half their pay? Not me. Cost of living is too high with what I make now.
