Same stuff...different scenario - Humans segmenting themselves into little "cliques" where one set thinks that they are better or more deserving of "post-death" privileges than the others.

Wow...according to that way of thinking, a person could be discriminated against because of being (or thinking) different, even after they die.

Ain't that some...

Look closely at the message: Do it this way or else! Only a non-perfect lifeform could come up with such a message and then for generations attempt to lend credibility to related ideologies by claiming that the message came from a higher power.

Evolve people, evolve. The end is NOT near.

This is a question I recently pondered, and wondered what persons in this forum though about it, that is those that actually believe such a place exists. What I observe is that the various faiths today have their own prescription for getting into in heaven. Christians believe that only Christians, ie. those that are born again will enter heaven's gate. I assume (correct me if I am wrong) that other religions such as Islam believe that only those that believe in Allah will see heaven, and I am not knowlegdable about other faiths like Budhism so CG help me out. And denominations like Jehovah witnesses believe that a select few numbering 144,000 will only see the pearly white gates, and so forth.
Someone once told me that persons from the various faiths will enter heaven, not just Christians or Jews for example. In essence Heaven will be a smorgasborg of indivduals who practiced different faiths but were in essence virtuous and displayed the goodwill one should show to ones fellow man during life, essentially they would all be really good, kind-hearted individuals, who just happen to pray differently and worship a god of a different name. What do you guys think of that logic?
Just want to hear your thoughts.

When did Christians get that kind of lock on heaven? Christendom is a revolutionary idea because it opened up heaven, even beyond it's own borders. Despite what a lot of ignorant Christians may claim, heaven is open to all. However, Christ who is the Way make certain requirements for this, and suprisingly, one does not even have to be baptize to enter heaven's gates.

Christ who's Kingdom is His own, therefore judges all who shall enter. What I dislike about the majority of Christians is they like to declare infallibly what God does with His place. This is not to say that Christianity cannot give guidelines, because this has been revealed to them, however, God's judgement is His own and not based solely on what He has revealed to mankind but that which is in His own divine nature.

People are obligated to seek the Truth in this life, and it can be done by various methods. When Christ says He is the Way, we often think of a path. However, North is the way, but there are many paths to get there. So it is with Christ, the key however is that we all seek the Truth. How we come to understand it is by the circumstances of our life.

The Muslim or the Buddhists is not necessarily wrong, he is right in that he is following Truth insofar as he can comprehend and recognize it. The Christian perspective while very strict on the tenets of salvation also remains very broad about it as well. Christ who came for all, even in absence of knowledge of Him as Revealed through His Church, its Scripture, Tradition, and Magisterium, also allows for all to be saved.

How can it be strict and broad at the same time?
