View Full Version : Illegal squatters
praetor 02-26-08, - 01:30 PM Hey all. I was wondering what can Bahamians do to if they find themselves in a position where illegal squatters (lets call them Haitians) have homes on their land without permission and definitely not paying rent of any kind?
As I see it, we have every right to go over there with shotguns and bulldozers to forcibly remove these people if they refuse to comply with requests for rent or to vacate the premises.
I mean, doesn't the shotgun rule apply if someone trespasses on your property? What do you guys think? I have land in the out islands and I sincerely hope noone's there. But I am fully prepared to take action.
Or is that being (haha) inhumane?
bahamiangoddess 02-26-08, - 01:40 PM Act immediately, if you know that they are there and you allow them to stay, later you may find out that they are inserting squatters right.
Ask them to quit and make sure put it in writing!
lynette 02-26-08, - 01:51 PM Time is of the essence. Be sure of your legal standing and then move in. Request they leave or pay rent and do it in writing as well and when the exiray date past carry ya bulldozer and da police and plow it down.
SpamStopper 02-26-08, - 01:54 PM Dont waste time with an illegal shotgun, might as well go out in style and get one AK47 while you are breaking the law. :sarcastic
lynette 02-26-08, - 01:54 PM I know one fella here in nassau who try every avenue to get them to move and they refuse to move they refuse to pay. They beat him up when he come with the bulldozer and park cars in the way, they were so great in numbers that the four officers he had with him backed off so he light the place a fire one day and then light it again the next week and three more times for the next three weeks a different day each time (he did not do it at night because kids would be there sleeping and stuff) finally they left.

Sweetie this may sound mean but if anybody squat on the property I own u are going to find your mess on fire... I will not tolerate that foolishness... If it is my property I burning your shizzle down!!!! Cold!!!
praetor 02-26-08, - 03:16 PM Thanks guys! I'm glad we still have that fire left in us.
I was thinking about a great idea. If there are a bunch of people squatting on the land, then how about hiring people to move them for you?
You could go to Kemp Rd. or wherever and hire a bunch of dudes to go down there and run them out.
That way we could stimulate the economy as well and give the youth of our country a few dollars for their pocket.
I got inspiration from the Americans' "Awakening" idea in Iraq.

But what if these dudes know or are related to the squatters?

Hire Some Haitians, if they is Haitian, then bring in some Cubans from Miami :hammer:

It doesn't matter. No houses burning and children crying because their mothers and fathers are lying in a pool of their own blood, then no "cold coke soda".

I was being facetious. I was saying to an earlier question that it doesnt matterif they ruffians i hire are related.
They dont get the job done, then no "cold coke soda". Meaning they dont get paid. I used that euphemism the same way haitians ask for a drink after a long day's work in my yard.
Imagine if we were talking about chinamen or koreans and i said "no tickey...no laundry"

12play 02-26-08, - 08:20 PM I do not know how often the Google maps are updated, but their software may be a good way to check up on your property, and to refute squatters rights, etc. The land thieves will have a hard time stealing land in the future...
