Alien 02-26-08, - 11:34 PM Let me ask the lot of you a serious question. I don't believe you are all stupid men and women. I think you mean well. So, let me just ask this, just to square away some mis-conceptions on the police in school issue.
Are you aware, that there are legitimate gang criminals in the public school? Real anti-social men and women, ALLOT OF THEM, who need to be weeded out and investigated by real criminal detection personel?
Simple question. Do you believe that there are gangs and criminals in the public school?
Yes or no!
Just for the FNMs. Because, I want to see where their minds are at. Maybe they don't fully grasp the weight of the situation. So, let us all educate!
:)

Alien 02-27-08, - 05:26 AM I was wondering Exrated and The_Point....I mean, your people act as if police in the schools, for the time being, is such an extraordinary provision in times of regularity.
natureboy2136 02-27-08, - 05:51 AM I was wondering Exrated and The_Point....I mean, your people act as if police in the schools, for the time being, is such an extraordinary provision in times of regularity. The hole issue of this government putting the police in the schools is now a polictical issue for them, seeing that the former government had put them in their & they were the one's to take them out of the schools. Now we have another school violence incident at the government high school. I tell you, we could have 1000 more of these incidents & Hubert Ingraham WILL NOT PUT THEM BACK IN THE SCHOOLS.

Nah man. That's sad. Really sad. Yet, they and their people, want opposition suppourt and for them, to come together with them for a "national plan"....a plan where they dis-regard everything the PLP initialized?
For PLPs, after they [the FNM] set civil opposition to the work of the Bahamian people, to now begging everyone to "help them", by giving them prime ideas on what's the way forward, IN THEIR TIME!?!?! A time they fought hard for, with a nasty campaign from hell and an entrenched opposition to the Bahamian majority's will???
Jokes! (sarcasitc)

The private schools are NOT government's responsibilty. You see, you guys keeping bringing up useles points, when we are trying to discuss this issue in the scope that it needs be- GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS!
Pirvate schools, cater to a different crowd and, because their "let in policies" and their "private policies" to what they allow, school crime is not a big issue as it is for a PUBLIC school. Private schools, have their own way of detecting and securing their campuses- but, when I went to school, police cars passed every day and, when there was a disturbance between the local government school and our school, they stuck around until the disturbance was maintained!
You people would say anything, wouldn't you? All of this for partisan pride!?!?
My Goodness!
:realmad:
gullyrock 02-27-08, - 08:57 AM And while assigning officers, why not assign some to patrol each street and the homes where these angry, violent children are coming from?
A little story: Last year I had a student who I could tell from get-go was not being raised properly. As he got older, more and more came out. By the time he turned the ripe age of 5 he was having some real anger issues. When the other children laughed or provoked him in any way he would tell them "F*&* You!" He would throw books and chairs around the room. He even called the other teacher a B**** when she told him he couldn't play outside! I spoke to his parents and grand parents and they seemed more pissed at me because after these incidents I called them to pick him up. His mom told me to tell him I would call the police if he cursed again in school. I tried that and he told me point blank, "I een scared a no police. My daddy say een no police could mess wid me. My daddy goin beat him up".. I know that this behaviour has not improved, so where do you think he is headed? A few like him in a school creates the problems were facing today. And it begins at home.
Kuegn 02-27-08, - 10:13 AM Alien,
Quick question: How many police officers do you want allocated for each government school?
Alien 02-27-08, - 12:18 PM How do you edit these polls anyways?
Kuegen,
How many were there before?
stagalee_abaco 02-27-08, - 02:38 PM are cops in schools really going to stop crime by just being there? 1 cop around 1,000 kids? I know those nassau hoods are training their kids and those kids aren't going to let one lazy cop stop them from doing whatever the hell they want to do
mafia princess 02-27-08, - 04:47 PM Who voted NO on this poll
please step tot he fron of the class
Did your hand slip when you were voting?
SpamStopper 02-27-08, - 05:11 PM LOL @ the 3rd option :D
The only problem with putting police in schools is that those police have to be taken off patrolling the streets. So while they are watching the little hoodlums, the big ones that have graduated are running around unchecked.
The only way to solve this is more police - better police, faster courts, swift and harsh punishment. Also, bring back the cane to the schools and use it - often! :hammer:
LOL @ the 3rd option :D
LOL! You subscribe to the “Kill them all, let God sort it out” school of criminology? :) Sometimes I feel that way myself!!
