I know what your saying ..thought thats not a law, just a hospital rule, which can be broken

When my cousin was shot and near dead in the ICU Doctors hospital. His wife (has a history of mental problems) said that his dad could not see him. Now the wife did not say that this was his dad. She had to make a list of who could see him and who could not the dad was not on the list. So he could not see his son until he proved he was the dad.

You cause a ruckus in the hospital you will get arrested.

This is one of the main issues for some sort of legal union for GLBT.
the rights between you and your chosen life partner.

Victorianism: a 19th century English society that was notorious for bigotry and restrictive about morals. Not so much a society, as it is Doctrinal Groupthink.

The problem here is that too many of today's Bahamians still swear allegience to The Dogma of Victorianism (Hmm maybe that explains the statue).
For all the opposition, I have yet to see or hear of a protest on the part of Christians concerning:
Homilophilia
One would think that if Christians were anti-sex perversion that they would start here.
Infantilism
Who's your Daddy? No protests for this one, screw the adults that dress up as children for sexual purposes, perversing of the image of the child, let's target those that have sexual attraction to their same gender. We don't care if infantilism may possibly foster paedophliac tendencies...it's our grown up posteriors that we're concerned with.
Tripsolagnia Come, come now. (No pun intended.) We've all seen or heard of the commercials. There's no problem displaying this on TV, sending this into people's homes, but sending two people home together is a problem?
Stupprator Hmm, why don't we hunt down the people who aren't attracted to virgins and not permit them to marry? After all anyone who isn't a virgin is a fornicator, no matter if they were raped or not. Stupprators're basically fornicator-lovers and Holy Matrimony is SACRED. Hmm, just as bad as them there "homieshexuels."
Sororate Marriages
Now, is it just me, or is this practice disgusting? Either way, in keeping with Victorianism, people who do this should be protested against.
Levirate Marriage
The only difference between this and the aforementioned is that the wife's husband is dead. I find it equally disgusting (whether condoned by the Bible or not).
Normophilia
This one is especially disturbing to me. No protests on this one...well...seeing as how this applies to...anyway. Funny thing, in this case the Normophiliac plays the role of the "Bottom" and the Religion/Society plays the role of the "Top." Hmm, imagine that! Who knew that Christians were allowed to be kinky? Or could be, even? Way to go Christian Right, somebody's getting lucky tonight!!
Bottom: passive partner who experiences stimuli.
Top: term used for partner who controls stimuli.

Ok now you have shacked up with this woman for a few years (lets asy 10) you are in love with her and she you. She gets deathly ill and is in the hospital. You are told only next of kin can see her and you have no legel status to be at her side when you know she needs you.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL????????????
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT LAW?????

I did not ask you what the Bible said I said how would you feel. Answer the questions stop skirting around them.

Whats up Vicky, you asking me the question and getting vex 'cause I een answer you right on the same post. You really think I of all people can do the miraculous!? Pleeeese!

If there is that much love between another woman and myself, to me I would treat her in every way just as if she were my wife. And the Bible says [NO, I take that back, since you dont seem to like to hear what the Bible says] I, Great Demosthenes, say, if they don't allow me to see her, I will break into the place and see her! I will be prepared to risk my life for her because I will regard her as a part of me. I won't care what the authorities do, think, or say!

Vicky, a law like that would be a dumb stupid law which deserves to be broken and I can't see why anyone would think or feel otherwise!

its not a law, just a hospital rule. Its a private company. They will call the police ofcourse if there is a problem, but once you show them some ID then there should not be a problem.

But Rory, there often is!

I have visited dying people from my former Churches, and later from my Buddhist groups. I could get in as a Spiritual Adviser. But Gay people's partners cannot! They are not family and the cops are called if they protest. I have overcome this by saying that the partner in question is my assistant and sneaking them in !!! I think the hospital often sees through my wheezy, but that are glad of the excuse. :p

Ah but when you deny gay marriage (or what ever you want to call it) you do this to people whom love each other just because they are a same sex couple. So now you understand where GLBTs are coming for when we say equal rights equal laws. and that is only a part of it.

Treat others as you want to be treated. You would not like to be denied access to the person you love nor do GLBTs. We must make the laws equal call it what ever you want.

Vicky, sometimes I can't understand where you are coming from -- but let me tell you something if I may: Many times I go one better than treating others like I want to be treated, I sometimes treat them as THEY want to be treated!

Well now the question is where do you stand now.
Do you stand for equality or not?
Do you think that there should be some sort of legal accommodation for same sex couples???
Call it marriage if you like it’s the legal rights, GLBT are concerned about not what you call it.

I disagree, they want to be married, ultimately.

Ok then please define the difference not including sex or gender. As in if they were passed as law the couple would have all the legal rights to each other as a married couple.

Marriage is:

Civil Union is:

Domestic Partner is:

Life partner is:

Ceremony of kinship is:

Well vicky, where I stand wouldn't amount to a hill of beans. Words like Equality and Levelling the playing field, I don't really understand these (I recall Lincoln explaining Equality, but I haven't checked it with my large dictionary). But I still don't believe those words have any solid meanings, ie, no earthly government will ever treat or be able to treat citizens with equality. Like in jury duty, you are supposed to be judged by a jury of your peers [people equal to you] -- WHAT PEERS, How could they ever be equal to you when every person is unique!?

All I can say is that if same sex couples want legal accommodation, they just have to keep lobbying the government for it. Most likely they will get it, just like most likely the lottery and all those kinds of things will also be approved and set up. Every day I witness all kinds of unusual things and if you check out Bible prophesy (like Matthew chap 24, and 2 Tim chap 3), you will see that all these things will take place before the end of this age!

So nothing surprises me anymore! I just wish the best for us all in whatever situation.

Exactly what I have been telling Vicky all along.

If you ask our opinion, we will be against it, that what forums are for to express opinions. We express opinions based on our belief system, and the bible clearly says that homosexuality is wrong and that marriage is between a man and a woman.

I make no attempts to influence the government against their cause for same sex marriage, all you guys got to do is keep lobbying like Great Demos says.

The reality is that true christians will not force religion on you, as you are free to not be a christian, but if the government or any group or individual asks a christian for their opinion on same sex marriage they will always get a NO.

So basically don't ask for us to accept it because it will only lead to homosexual sex, it will make it seem ok for more people to say 'hey I think I am a homosexual' and it twists the concept of marriage.

Indeed the end is coming and these things will come to pass no matter what, if you want to speed it up, then don't ask us - go straight to the government, only they can help you, christians won't agree to it, it is against our way of life that is guided by the God of the bible.

Got it vicky? Not trying to be harsh, but you can argue with us forever on this subject and always get a resounding NO. I am fine with you guys living together and having rights that you don't have - but marriage was not created for same sex unions, and homosexuality is not an option in our religion.

Stop arguing with us and go straight to the government, you can't change our minds, use your time to petition the government not us. We can't help, and probably won't help.

Don't be mad with us, we don't make the laws.
