I like how as normal as humans consider themselves to be they remain the only race without weird foreheads (don't fit the norm), and don't forget the political allusions they throw in there too.
We know who the Romulans were based on.
And as sure as water is wet we know who The Borg was modelled after.
They've never clarified whether or not this is true...but I think the Klingon's were a "people" based on feudal Japanese society.

You know something, I'm going to start a thread about this in The Lounge.

YOU EVER SEE?! Man, eh, I want the original on DVD SO BAD!!! I only gat the Sci Fi version, but the extras that come with it "carrying on."
They have two specific commentaries I really enjoy, one on the worldwide concept of a Messiah told from the point of view of Judiasm, Christianity, Jungian Psychology and another doctrinal group I forget... And the other on how "Science Fiction gives us a Science Future."

Boy eh!
"The Spice must flow. The Spice is everywhere, in our food, in our clothes, in the very air that we breathe."
The Fremen (Free men?) with changed "eyes" from "living in the desert".
Muad' Dib (in their native tongue) meant "the teacher of boys" and was literally a desert mouse that hopped.
The mother of The Mahdi was a witch. (Wouldn't some probably say the same thing about the mother of a virgin birth?)
Eh?! And after "Paul" took the Water of Life, they want him to kill StilGar to prove he was the Mahdi! Hmmm...who dat remind ya of?! "He ain't our leader no more. Kill him. Crucify him..."
The Fremen worshipped Shai Halud (The Great Worm) and in order to get the Water of Life for the consecration of their "Mahdi" (Messiah) to turn him into the "Kwisatz Haderach" ("the one who can be many places at once") and the "Sayyadina" (Friend of God) they had to "Subdue The Maker."
Hmmm...nah who dat remind ya of?! Can't just take what the "worm" have to offer, they gatta KILL the worm, turn the "Spice" into a commodity and make a religion out of the entire process based on their rules and preconceived notions.
Vicky, I shall gladly pay the fine for your "Red Light" ticket! :D

What have I been saying all along. But Christianity as it is today is a religion not a way of life. If it were a way of life (The Way) look at what we would have, Heaven on earth is what we would have. You would see equality beyond your dreams. You would never go hungry unless you wanted to. There would be no homeless. When you met some one it would not matter who they loved. Blind dumb cripple or crazy they would all be as human as you are human. We would stand side by side to end all forms of discrimination. Because Christ never discriminated against anybody he even loved those who had him nailed to the cross. When stand for your enemy’s right to a way of life you love your enemy as you would love your self.
Great Demos you have brought tears to my eyes I am not kidding. All I can say is now you finally understand.
May the inner peace of The Way stay with you.

My, My, Vicky, I FINALLY understand!? I understood this some 50 odd years ago when I first left school. In school, having studied the life of Christ so thoroughly in order to pass Cambridge exams, my faith was stronger then than it is now! I sometimes wonder why that was so. The only thing I can attribute the weakening of my faith to is after leaving school and entering the work world, I started doing all kinds of ungodly things for almost 40 years! Then I encountered a number of major misfortunes -- it was like all hell started to break loose in my life. It was only about 6 years ago, I decided I better re-dedicate my life to God and try my best to serve Him, and try to kind of make up for lost time. This has improved my life very much.

But even if Christians were living the kind of life that they are supposed to live, that kind of heaven on earth situation you talk about would not emerge, because there will always be some wicked people around to mess things up. I see it all the time almost every where. Vicky, may the inner peace of the Lord also stay with you.

But even if Christians were living the kind of life that they are supposed to live, that kind of heaven on earth situation you talk about would not emerge, because there will always be some wicked people around to mess things up. As Capt. Planet would say the power is yours. They can only mess it up if you let them. No matter how bad things get it’s the Creator's will be done. When you understand nothing of this world is permanent when you die you take nothing with you of this world. How wicked other people are no matter what they think of you no matter what they do or say to you goes with you. Inner peace comes when you do your best to live The Way in the life that you have.
Come the 27 th next week is going to be an extremely painful day for me. Mom and Dad will say good-bye for the last time. Mom is Canadian with permanent residence Dad is Bahamian. Mom needs dialyses she is on Medicare in Canada. Dad is ill him self the Dr.s can't find what’s wrong with him. When Mom goes to Canada on the 27 she can't come back. Dialysis is $100.00 an hour down here. She would need 3 to 5 hours every 3 days. We just don't have the money for that down here. Dad is not stabilized enough to travel up there, he may never be.
So this is my last week to see my parents together. It’s been a good Holiday season but the 27 th comes next week. My inner peace tells me that I will have pain great pain and the Creator's will be done.
Don't think that means I give up hope. I am still going to check social services and see if there is anything that can be done. They have both paid their taxes here they have both lived here. The have been together 47 years. Now when they need each other they must be separated or choose a shorter life. Mom says she is ready not to get on the plane. Even if it means she will die. We have told her to go and she will. Because my mother needs to be in Canada for medical care she can't get here. Not just the dialyses. 1 of the Meds she is on is $600.00 a month covered by Medicare. PMH says they don't do transient patients for dialyses as if she is a tourist. She lives here she just won't be here most of the time. Hope you all don't mind me unloading my burden here.
I see it all the time almost every where. Vicky, may the inner peace of the Lord also stay with you.

Yes, the Way was the name given to the early Christian movement.

It is very sad to hear about the situation with your mother and father.

I just hope and pray that by some miracle they would be able to spend the rest of their lives together!

It is a way of life that follows the teachings of Christ. Christians are supposed to think like Him, talk like Him and act like Him!

The above in red is "The Way".

From post 74 Great Demos you did not respond to this question.

I have a very deep question for you great demos.
Why do you believe the "Bible is the word of God"?

It is a hard one to answer but please give it a shot

Ok with the past few posts Great Demos. I need to ask you again.
