If its not rats then dont know what it is, but I worked in a pet store for a couple years and that is what the dried up cat/dog (one of them) urine smelled like.

It is a strong smell, you cant NOT smell it, I tried and even took a bite until It was so strong I just threw it all away. I was hoping I was smelling something, obviously not. Just put your nose even an inch away from it.

Now if that is how their paper wrapper is supposed to smell, then they should let people know, cause then I would not waste my time there.

Complaining to the staff there ofcourse would be useless as it always is in Nassau.

SpamStopper went back even with all the traffic.

Apparently the paper has some ingredient that causes it to smell like that after it has been heated (burnt) and then cools down. I say apprently as one could not imagine what ingredient in a piece of paper would do that. However, the mustard color that looked like a stain turned out to be the heating of the paper, in sections where the bread was not resting. They did a test while SpamStopper was there, just to confirm. It was still hot and they said when it cools down it smells bad.

So if this is so, SpamStopper Apologizes to Subway for jumping to conclusions on the Rat Urine (BTW I worked in that shopping mall and know of the mice infestations), but also asks they fix the problem which includes the placing of the paper in a toaster for it to get burnt, and which is causing it to put off this gawd awful smell. Until that time SpamStopper cannot eat from said restaurant.

Paper in the toaster???

Yep, I watched them do it, and they even said we Dont have the right stuff, "This aint how we suppose to be doing it, this the wrong stuff for the toaster" (toaster oven BTW) .. I watched it go in white and come out mustard colored .. didnt smell bad like the one I had but at least what looked like a "stain" made sense then. Only the "stained" portion smelled bad.
