I would contact a lawyer in the Bahamas to help you with that - they will guide you.

go to passport office with documents of family make the trail to you for passport,only thing is your mother was bahamian ,might be harder ,was your father bahamian?thats automatic passport.

2800 acres...that sounds suspect to me...and if its yours...why establish residency?...are you trying to avoid paying taxes? dear god another one!
