Yeah, I also think it stemmed from a bit of a low self-esteem due to her weight problem. So she basically took what she could get and married him as soon as possible. As for him, well, he was probably trying to cover up his sexuality. Typical case, see it all the time. It's sad. Plus you could tell she was a work-a-holic.
