FREEPORT,Grand Bahama

At 5:26am this morning officials at the Rand Memorial Hospitalreported the death of celebrity ________ _________.

The mega Hollywood A-lister was reportedly found unconcious in the Lweis Yard home he shared with a local female resident. Paramedics tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful.

A notarized will found with the body confirms that the HOLYWOOD celebrity left the bulk of his fortune to a young Lewis Yard boy named "Pierre", the Grand Bahama Humane Society, Lewis Yard Primary school and a potcake dog named Lucky.

Family members have already began to fly in and are stating they will quickly remove the body for burial in Texas, against the wishes of ______ ________ who wanted to be buried in the Pinder Point graveyard.

Reports are stating that no drugs were involved, but officials are suspicious of the star's American companion who had no legal visa to be in the country and no real source of income.

"We are in-west-e-gating," Said Inspector Whatdahell Jones. "At dis time the death is ruled natural causes and the body will be examined by the coroner."

When asked for comment the GBI tourism director stated, "So far our office has received over 2,000 calls for reporters and news media from around the world who are expected to fly in for the funeral in GBI next Saturday. The hotels are saying they are packed and we are expecting nearly 50,000 to visit next week."

There was no comment from the Ministry of Immigration who approved the star's resident visa.

I pretty much saying our tourism goose is cooked.

The only way we seem to attract visitors is with a big scandal or other nonsense.

It's like the wreckers in Bahamian History.Lure them onto the reefs with "fake lights" then pick them clean.

Yep... we ga dead.

Not a typical 'sunny side up' response from you Sunny. Everything okay?

In this age of satellite GPS, even the wreckers will starve!

The Bahamas needs to take two pills of LNG and wake up smarter tomorrow.

The Bahamas will always be one of the top tourists' destinations in the world. All it needs today is a broader activity sense, professional promotion back up and bigger aircarriers plus 'landing rights' in countries other than just America.

Bahamas for Bahamians !!! (just so ya know)

Ok to imply that shane had something to do with anna nicoles death is just stupid. But then again some a yall brain dead Fnm's never pass up the chance to point the finger(at least da set dat ain jam in da cookie jar!). But on to things of a more sensible nature, Zero I personally think that it's a far too prevalent misconception that "we will always be a number one destination for tourists".The fact of the matter is, tourist numbers have been slipping based on poor services and high prices just too name a few. i think the Min. of Tourism has finally bought into this blaring reality and have started a radio and tv ad campaign letting us know, and i am paraphrasing, that the Bahamian tourist product is a house in disrepair, and that it is all of our jobs as Bahamians to fix it. I was glad to hear the current min of tourism point out while addressing his constituents in GB that WE have alot to do with the declining visitor numbers. You have to realize that in today's world where everything ebbs and flows, NOTHING is "for certain" or "guaranteed". It's my belief that nurturing this mindset will ineveitably lead to complacency. Want to take out the recognized "leader" ? Let him rest on his laurels and believe he will always be on top, downfall will soon follow. Furthermore I think that for a nation that depends so heavily on tourism, its not only a strike against OUR govt (whoever is in at ANY time), but you and I the Bahamian public. I say this because when we market our country as being tops, this is how we in turn present our selves. And the reality is when the first time visitor weighs us against what we had previously portrayed, we are found grossly wanting. Yea superstar so an so dead, so the paparazzi will flock in by the plane load, but you know whats dying every day and we dont seem to notice or care? The once intrinsic Bahamian courtesy, charm, comraderie, peaceful and serene atmosphere. Those are just a few of the dying qualities. We CLAIM to be a "paradise", measure up your(or the typical image) idea of paradise against what we have today, or even better yet what we had 50 years ago. What a difference eh?!!!!!!!!!! But who really cares, when the almighty dollar reigns supreme society will ultimately suffer a slow and tragic death.

Yes sir.. mr. DeWiless.. I know you are right about that. And yet.. out here on the other side of the atlantic.. The Bahamas is still seen as one of the top destinations for travellers to spend their time. Even friends are still calling me to this date saying ''hey guess were we are going to spend our vacation''. The Bahamas is seen as a luxury vacation deal. I have friends here saying they want to go to The Bahamas for good. People telling me for years ''hey why you in The Netherlands.. if I was from The Bahamas you wouldnt see me leaving.. what made you come to Europe''. So it really means that tourists do not feel our pain.. wich ofcourse is the idea. And the international news stations are not giving The Bahamas a hard time either. They do this quick with other countries. Instead they are showing all the pearls and diamonds of our country. For some reason the global media is on our side. Ofcourse alot of them are aware of the negative changes our ''paradise'' has gone through over the years. Evenso.. The Bahamas is still at the top of the charts around the world. Know what that means ? We are actually living on more than gold diamonds and pearls, thanks to God. We just do not know how to keep it Bahamian. We can take our country back. We will need a party that is not FNM and not PLP since this is much more than just a simple political issue. Our global market position is still very strong.
