According to a U.S. Department of State 2007 Human Rights report.Although The Bahamas is a signatory to both the 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 protocol, the government has not established a consistent system for providing protection to all refugees and asylum seekers, according to the report.......Anti-Haitian prejudice and resentment regarding continued Haitian immigration was common,

I am of the view that the United States of America has not examined sufficiently its own action of perceived Human rights violations. I am reminded of the "wet foot dry foot " policy with respect to Cuban migrants, but a migrant seeking refugee from Haiti is placed on the next available thing smoking out of the great USA the land of not so equal opportunities,

This is what pisses people off around the world, and led Clement Maynard to famously say,"The Americans can go to hell".

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

But not the Haitians!
