Developer told to "stop":
http://www.thenassauguardian.com/national_local/305561755450952.php###%20template%20not%20found%20###

"The Ministry of Works has issued a cease and desist order against a local development company, which has been filling wetlands in the Cable Beach area allegedly without a permit."
...................
"Deveaux also denied that he was turning a blind eye to the development because a family member is involved.
Mr. Munnings' sister, Judy Munnings-Deveaux, is Minister Deveaux's sister-in-law.
"I have no involvement in any approval of her development, and I utterly and totally object to any insinuation that I am turning a blind eye to this project," he said."
......................

Well muddoes this happening right in MP Hubert Minnis (mp in charge of environment) backyard, that area in Killarney constituency.
Interesting about the Deveaux connection....the Munnings fella probably went ahead with it thinking his brother-in-law would protect him.

Our wetlands need some serious protection, seems like they getting bulldozed everywhere.

Alien, you cant be serious! You know what happens when we fill-in wetlands. The eco-system is destroyed. In the Bahamas we dont have much agri potential but I say we should protect our marine potential. We may not have much but we have to preserve what we have, if we intend further generations to able to eat home grown fish and enjoy some semblance of natural environment.

Jokes, they need to work on the fumes and smoke in nassau first, this is small tings in comparison. :hammer:

And if they really serious, they need to close down Potters Cay, Arawak Cay, Montagu Ramp, and stop them Cruise Ships and other boats from dirtying up the harbour.

You see that aye? Mosquito borne diseases kill more human beings each year than all other diseases combined. Unfortunately they live and breed in the mangrove and da swamp.:jawdroop:

Peeps back in da states are dying from West Nile virus from mosquitos and getting more and more p!ssed at the tree huggers fa killin people.
