Calls for more recycling of garbage:
http://www.thenassauguardian.com/national_local/291483294579950.php

"With no foreseeable solution for the problems associated with the location of the city dump, experts in the field are encouraging Bahamians to increase their efforts to re-use and recycle their "trash".".......

They even talking about the dump fire:
"Several persons have called for the re-location of the dump after a fire last month caused a number of problems for the residents in the neighboring communities. However, both Rolle and Dean said the likelihood of a re-location is slim to none."
(Don't think it will move anytime soon, LANDCO is expanding the dump)

"Dean said because Bahamians are so materialistic, and consume so much, the situation at the dump has quickly escalated. He said the government probably didn't even expect New Providence to generate so much garbage."

We do like to buy plenty tings, then throw them away....

Its about time but it won't work.

Bahamians can't carry plastic bag to the beach to collect their Kentucy to throw in the nearest dumpster, you think they gon sort plastic from tin from glass from paper???

We are lazy lazy lazy. We need to just become part of the US so we can all go on welfare and let the military experiment on us.

They need to setup community recycling systems .. do it one community at a time. To try to take on the entire island of New Providence all at once, will not work.

One thing with the "more" though, where does it already exist?

Community recycling is a good way to increase recycling here.
Every once and a while you see small recycling initiatives around town, like the reusable bags......
