There are Bahamians who are listening, but our numbers are few. Unfortunately there also is a growing majority of Bahamians who have a false perception that it doesn't "affect them directly".

The natural beauty of our beaches, surrounding waters, reefs and wildlife bring millions to our shores, yet in the face of that fact we, for the most part, disregard the influence of our collective "polluting actions".

Indeed it's a matter of information dispersal and education. The problem is that many of our people seem to not take education seriously, neither do they want to be informed.

Things will change. They must, in fact.

There is more like apathy on the subject I think. Seriously with the population in Nassau, how many of them do you think are connected to the ocean in anyway. I think I understand more the issue with more and more Bahamians in the urban centre of nassau that growing further and further from the sea.

Would you not say that a regular beach goer or a person that makes a living on the sea or lives on the shore would have a greater concern for the ocean and environment on the whole rather than the persons living in the interior who rarely see the beach even on the holidays?
