Hey Viki,

I'm Flowerchild and I'm new to this site. I'm eighteen, so go easy on me...lol. I find your topic/question, being highly intriguing and provacative. First off I'm glad I caught you raising the question. I read some people's post stating that you should leave this topic alone and it's old and la la la. I think it's great you brought it up ( again or whatever). Bahamians and Christians tend to run away from questions that they cannot answer. Being a Christian I can be honest and admit to that. Your question I believe was 'Why do we believe that the Bible is the word of God/Creator and not the Quaran or Torah?' Well the thing Viki is we simply believe that because that's what we were taught to believe.
Most Christians will probably chew my head of for this but that's the truth. It's cognitive learning. Our enviorment influences heavily what we think and believe. I believe that the Bible is God's word, but again that has no relevance because that's not what you asked. One could argue even that the Bible is not God's word, but man's writing INSPIRED by God. Just something to ponder on. If we were Muslims and we grew up memorizing the Torah and Quaran we would believe the Bible was make, but that would not be necessarily that it's true. We would just believe it, because that's what we grew up learning.
But all in all if we really wanted to be real with ourselves, we would say that we believe that it's God's word because that's what are forfathers and nations have convinced us that it is.
Good point Viki, why don't Christians choose which laws they want to keep. That baffles me. It's something I struggle with. We focus so heavily on sexual sins (fornicating and adultery), yet we overlook a woman cutting her hair (known as a woman's glory) as not being a sin. We push education at our young people so much that it can become an "IDOL" despite popular belief. Heck we even make some of Pastors "IDOLS". Just a little something I was thinking about.
