We not forgot that kangaroo election we had in 2007. Spoiled ballots, alleged voter tampering on both sides, padded register and election court cases, with people being brought in who were never members of their constituency!!

What will the government, do about such blatant dysfunctionality!?!?

To say, that this happens like this, in the grand way that it did with us, does not fix these current issues. And, it would be best, before we go into another election or campaign mode, that we sort it out so we don't get fudged information at the heightened election season.

You mean that kangaroo election the PLP put on and then get beat. As to the voter tampering on both sides, that’s a stretch. There was some alleged voter tampering in fact two instances where the police was involved……wait a minute both of those were PLP operatives who got caught. And ballots……..wasn’t it the PLP that had 40000 plus “practice ballots”. Personally I believe the practice ballot line cause the PLP supporters are some of the slowest people out there and probably need lots of practice (joke).

What will the government, do about such blatant dysfunctionality!?!?

All jokes aside the government does need to address this situation in a serious way.

I agree!!!

This is not about politics and who ran who and who blames who. This is the type of political stupidity that causes non movement.

Its about reform of a patently obvious broken system. Has been before the PLP won and lost.

Yes we need election reform. This government needs to live up to its slogan. More regulations and more importantly existing regulations & future ones need to be enforced.

Also we need greater accountability, transparency, and better communication from our MP's.

The PM has already spoken on this...He said, "Any dummy knows that all these problems happen because PC closed the old register too late......"....

So I doubt anything will happen besides closing the register much earlier next time!!

But I don't understand, how illegal people getting on the register or persons voting who moved out of the area where they voted more than 6 months prior to the election have anything to do with the register closing too late!!!

But maybe I am the STUPID one!!!

While we are on the subject of electoral reform, when are we going to have a completely secret ballot?

I will say this any dummy working in the polls as agents for candidates should know the people who are supposed to vote in their polling division.

That is something I do not think we will see anytime soon!

If we truly had a secret ballot, the cases that went to court as a result of this election, would not have been possible. There must be checks and balances.

Perhaps the first place to start is with the office of the parlimentary reistrar.

This entity should be indepedent and as error-free as possible. How this can be achieved, of course is another story.

It's secret until there is election court!
