PLP paid for Bahamian in Turks and Caicos to vote, court heard

The Progressive Liberal Party paid for Calvin Hart IV to return home from the Turks and Caicos Islands, one day before the 2007 general election, the Election Court heard yesterday.

However, Hart, whose vote is being challenged by Progressive Liberal Party Senator Pleasant Bridge-water, told the court that he did not return to Freeport specifically to vote. Rather, he said he just wanted to come home. Still, he added that he did vote in the general election.

Hart, a Grand Bahama native - who revealed that in the months leading up to the May 2 poll that he was "visiting" his mother in the Turks and Caicos - told the court he was contacted by a female who identified herself as a representative of the Marco City PLP team, wanting to know if he was interesting in returning home.

By the evidence the voter gave in court, I have concluded that he voted FNM....He wasted no time in outing Plesant and her team!!! He would have said what he said in a better way if he had supported the PLP.....IMO!!!

But my question is looking past the obvious, how does she know he voted FNM?

Bottom line is that once you are a bahamian citizen off to school or in Turks you still have the right to vote when election is call.

We all have that right and if one of the party want to send a ticket thats there problem but once you come you can vote for whom ever.

Pleasant is doing this because she really thought she was going to win and when she saw she didn't she was upset and went and listern to Perry foolish garbage that she could win in the courts.
This is going to cost her a great deal and I agree this is all apart of the PLP Corruption,this is something thar could never change due to there greed.

I think after Alyson lost her petition that pretty much show that the PLP dont have much of a chance of winning any of their petitions. My opinion why they cant win is because the election irregularities occured under their watch so they cant profit from their own negligence. But it runs deeper than that you know, how can you as the former government expect the judiciary to scratch your back after you diss dem left and right, YOU Alyson Maynard wanna pick a fight with one of the very judges of the court from whom you want to get a favourable decision? Gatta be crazy. Leslie Miller knew it was hopeless, so what he did was asked for permission for his petition to be withdrawn this led the court to dismiss the petition. The effect of this means that the PLP lost 2/3 election petitions. The odds therefore are highly unlikely for the PLP to go from 0-2 to 1-2. It was their bad. They're not going to win because things fell apart under their watch, they committed too many scandals, botched too many things that already worked properly, caused women's rights to go back 200 years (yes Bradley Roberts I mean you), let us not forget Anna Nicole may she rest in peace, Neville Wisdom and his bleachers, the PLP's inability to ever have the schools repaired on time because they was too busy givin contracts out to their boys who everybody knows was incompetent, they put their cronies in the key positions and basically caused the country to be stagnant for five years, didnt give the courts a timely and appropriate salary review, Perry only shuffle about the place didnt even secure his own self after his term was up, Vincent Peet have a lucrative bank in a shoe box in the closet, Fred Mitchell spendin all the money in the consolidated fund goin all over the world, Mother Pratt lettin people outta jail thru favouritism and cause her own cousin Jackie Moxey get kill (I love Mother Pratt but she could never do nothin right as minister of natl security), and lastly, the thing that I will never forget and this is for yall PLP's to explain to me because I'll never understand it but Hubert Ingraham decides to give Perry Christie a pension after he loses the election and becomes the country's first 1 term PM and all the PLP's oppose the bid of the current Prime Minister to give the former Prime Minister a pension. Sounds to me like all that time Perry was lookin out for his friends a bunch of incompetent imbeciles that never got any work done and none of his own people was his friends, and Hubert was his friend all along. I ain PLP or FNM. I ain vote PLP or FNM. I just a bystander, typical joe blow Bahamian watchin things as they happen and nothin ever seems to amaze me.

Due process is due process. Just because you feel they messed up on allot of things, does not mean that anyone who challenged, does not deserve to have their day in court.

You never can know. In fact, you don't know if whether or not those folks in Marco City liked Bridgewater over Laing- let their voices be heard, and their votes count.

That's why I was kind of upset when Miller did not carry through with his case. The people may have wanted him instead of the other guy.
