i mean with 150.00 a week what about the NIB? i think it shoul be like $200.00 NIB will probaly take out one 6.00 so she will at least have $190.00 to work with and probaly save for college

I will be honest, all the kids I know on summer programs and summber jobs, none of them have ever told me they got 200.00 but then again they didnt have to answer phones + page employees when problems arised.

So maybe your right!

Is the student in high school or college?
I think highschool students get $100/week and college $150-$200 - NIB is not deducted.

Are you sure about the NIB not being deducted Suga, I was told by an NIB agent that if some worked for even 1 hour contributions have to be paid.

Now before some one gets in a tizzy, I am sure most people dont bother for the hour, I do, just for the fact that some wacko gripes to NIB and they come after me. :)

Summer students do not pay NIB and if they did it would only be 3.4% of the gross pay!

The Govt (FNM's first term) declared that summer students not pay NIB...so they get their full checque.

In any event lot of ppl deduct it and don't pay it anyway!

i still think $200.00 should be fair though at least for start and then if they are skilled or improves at the end of the summer thats if you feel they deserve more then you could go the extra mile with a bonus

just saying

Oh it went up, cool.

My two government related summer jobs paid
100 while i was in high school
175 while i was in college.

I know COB pays students around 5 an hour as well.

Tho, friends of mines who used to work at private places sometimes made a bit more than us who worked at government jobs. I can remember when i got 100 a week in HS, a bud of mines was making 180 a week.

Q&A:

1-Do they pay rent? Doubtful.
2-Do they have trans to maintain? Doubtful again.
3-Do they pay for groceries and other bills? Once again highly doubtful.
4-Is this a temporary job? For certain.
5-Do they have any experience? Doesn't seem so.

$175 a week.

When do potential employers pay individuals based on their financial obligations such as bills and car expenses. Maybe I am wrong, but I am thinking that the last two should be applicable.

Skilled?

Child some that I have had employed couldn't even spell and was graduating from high school.
Whenever they wrote something, I had to have them interpret it.

And the one I put on cash...my gawd he couldn't count...everyday his till was short, then one day he told me he "borrowed" funds to buy lunch! :taped2: If I had hauled off and slapped him I would be in Foxhill today!

So skilled I don't think so!
