Has anyone, or, anyone you know, took advantage of it?

Apparently the Govt. was offering up at least 5k worth of government loans, to people for small start ups.

I would like to see it progress a little more, and hear from people who got it and how the process was.

It's a grant not a loan

There were two interviews that I had to go through. The first interview was to ensure that I have all of my documents and an idea of the grant. With the second interview they went over your business plan and the budget the proposed budget plan you laid out for the grant.

They told me to call back in a week, but when i called i was told to check back in june :realmad:

The turnout was less than expected though. The govt set aside 1 million for the grant, so thats 200+ potential businesses. My name gatta be on one of them:hammer:

Oh yea...if they said June, keep me posted on that. I think they should do this every 6 months, or so, IF, they have not hit their target!

??
Tools and equipment? So, the grant was only for construction type businesses?

Hardly, computers, registers, whatever you would use in your business I am sure.

Congratulations.

What is very disappointing is the low turnout. With all the complaining about lack of opportunities for Bahamians, there should have been a large population base applying for these grants. The government actually proposes a program for the development of small business and it goes largely ignored, people will continue to complain about no one helping them out instead. Very disappointing.

Do they have any leftover money available, cause I could scrap together a business plan . . .
