Central Bank reports that even though tourism fell in 2007, what saved our azzes is that surprise of all surprises -- tourists are spending more.

In spite of the fall in numbers, spending increased by $129 million.

My personal speculation is that due to weakness in the American dollar, we are getting more Canadians, Europeans, South Americans etc, and they spend more than Americans.

Are these other tourists coming a good thing? Yes!

honestly lurker, the weaker the american dollar gets, the stronger the pound becomes. At my bank, they're giving away US money like its paper, 0% commission on exchange.

might get a little waitressing job over here to supplement my summer frolicks :hammer:

But the way I see it, we should be marketing to European and British Citizens in any event, because everywhere i turn, all i hear about is DUBAI DUBAI DUBAI. We need to market a quiet getaway to these people, who will probably stay longer because they have to travel so far.
