View Full Version : Does anyone have an update on the new URP??
Objective thought 05-10-08, - 09:48 AM I was just wondering. It's been a few months since the new programme was reintroduced to the country but the govt has not mentioned what has been happening with it...
I would just like to hear an update on the programme....
Has anyone seen an improvement in the Englerston constituiency since the reintroduction of the programme???
Has any outside toilets been replaced by indoor ones??
Has there been an improvement in the amount of derelict vehicles??
Is the area cleaner??? etc, etc....
Objective thought 05-10-08, - 12:23 PM Ok. So I will take the no response to mean that there is nothing to report on the new URP!!
But didn't I warn yall that if they took the police out of the programme, it will just become "another useless govt. funded programme"???
It has just become another avenue to hire followers of the govt. of the day!!!
And to think that this programme was to be one of the more important programmes of today...It was supposed to help in the fight against crime!!!
What has happened to the programme??? It has gone dead or so it seems to me...
Alien 05-10-08, - 12:26 PM Melody normally comes on on Sunday.....bump it sunday morning and pm her for a response!

During the budget debate in 2007, many members of this govt bragged about the fact that they are investing more in the programme than the former govt has ever done....
So why no update on their new programme which was supposed to be a more effective one than it was in its former form????

No...I will not!!!
All these FNM supporters here on BI seem to know everything there is to know about the PLP sometimes even before I know them so they should know if they care!!!
Or maybe they just care about the PLP and what they do and not what their party does....
SpamStopper 05-10-08, - 02:09 PM Go visit your local UR and see what they are doing. In fact they could use some donations for new computers and other things. :hammer:

Objective thought 05-10-08, - 03:10 PM Do you read the papers?
Who does???
The programme just happens to be very important and should be on the TV and radio news more often!!!
Most poor people don't read the papers!!! So the info is not reaching people like me!!

I don't know of any in my area... I thought that they have a trial programme in Englerston only.....They are starting all over again rather than building on the former programme and change it over time.....
BAHMIA 05-11-08, - 08:51 AM Dang Objective, at first glance, I thought that there was another party in the works! Instead, this is about the Urban Renewal Program. I too haven't heard any news about it. Will wait for Melody's response.
