CG that is sad, but Bahamian men have no one but themselves to blame, for the way Bahamians regard Father's Day.
The majority of us today can say that when the going was tough and food was scarce, MOTHER was always there to save the day!
Say what you like about Bahamian woman, but the majority of them did and continues to do whatever is necessary to feed and take care of their children.
I am not saying that all the men are alike, there were and still are some good fathers out there, but the numbers pale in comparision to the faithful mothers out there.
nationbuilder 05-11-08, - 05:04 PM I wonder where he was. Most of those mothers would appreciate cash to help with the hihg prices of food and gas.

My sentiment exactly nation; they should take like they suppose to...damn it.
androsann 05-11-08, - 07:41 PM There was an interesting comment on the ZNS news last night when they were interviewing some of the roadside vendors. They were asked if they would be out selling their wares for Father's Day and one responded that she wouldn't because there weren't as many fathers in the Bahamas as mothers, seeing as the same man tended to have children with more than one woman!

I totally agree with the first part of your post, there are indeed some excellent fathers in our country who do take exceptional care of their children and their wives. But do you really honestly believe that they are the majority? If they are, then how come we have so many single parent homes in this country?

I am of the view that in their youthful years a significant amount of young men was allowed by YOUNG LADIES to exploit them as a result children were born...
SOME OF these men moved on and moved into productive relationships and have new families....
It is a shame that children are the victims but you cannot fault the men ONLY..
The Point 05-11-08, - 11:16 PM Tommy T was back to the flowers distribution! Keod never did fill certain gaps...

First of all the MP is not obligated to give out Mother's Day trinkets, and he certainly is not obligated to give out cash!
Some of you ppl kill me dead! How dare you even go there!
If mothers are having had times it's time to cut out the hairdos, the nails and stop all the unnecessary driving up and down!
