View Full Version : 2012 Third Party Prospects
What are your thoughts about:
1) Cassius Stewart - Bahamas Democratic Movement
OR
2) Dr. Dexter Johnson - Bahamas National Party
Let me see Cassius Stewart SMT
Dexter Johnso - Who he is???
Bahamian people are a peculiar people to judge in any election. Some are so seasoned they have both PLP and FNM shirts and use which ever depending on who wins and use the other to wash their cars with BOL. But look at Tennyson, it was said that he was well loved by the people in Bamboo Town and he did lots in his area.By the same token I heard Carl Bethel would never get re-elected but you see what happened.
Well Muddo 05-11-08, - 09:49 PM Here Is A Thought. If Hubert Alexander Ingraham Became Fed Up With The Hierarchy Of The Fnm, And Decided To Run Under The Umbrella Of A New, Third Party In 2012, Would His Party Win Even One Seat Or Perhaps Multiple Seats In The Election?
nationbuilder 05-11-08, - 09:54 PM You laugh, but do not give any reason for dismissing either of them. Are you a crony of either the PLP or FNM yourself? And no, I am neither Cassius Stewart nor Dr. Dexter Johnson.
I een gat to give nuthin..this een a court of law playa! :shaky:

Why I get the feeling you are HI (just kidding...not) Any way I feel as if
it would depend on who the candidates are.

You ain't no nation builder you is a bull shedda, cuz you cyan even give an explanation as to why persons who have voiced legitimate concerns about building this country aren't worthy of consideration. You must be a CRONY who hangin' on one o dese party's ding dongs. Nation what? My ***!
Vibragreen 05-11-08, - 09:59 PM I don't believe in Parties. It's just a way for people to control power. Everyone and everything should be independent.

If every elected official were independent then who would form the government?

Well Muddo 05-11-08, - 10:15 PM It is amazing that we have the degree of apathy and resignation that we do in this country. I predict that things will continue to unravel until this same apathy and resignation gives way to the next political revolution in The Bahamas.
canesfins 05-11-08, - 10:47 PM No one have any thoughts on either Cassius Stewart or Dexter Johnson? Are they considered wastes of time? Or is it that we dismiss the message if the messenger isn't PLP or FNM? If this is the case why should anyone believe that our politicians will ever listen to the Bahamian people, except for every 5 years?
Have you even read their platforms, no way either of them will be able to lead either of the 2 parties, and certainly not a third party

It is not apathy that will result in the next political revolution. It is the exact opposite. It is the few who believe there is a better way, the few who are motivated to make a difference, the few who are willing to make sacrifices to see it happen. This few will reform a party from the inside out, revolutionalizing what the party stands for, energizing the populous. Tha twill be the next political revolution. The revolution has started.

CANESFINS you are a known PLP, and if the revolution begins from the inside out, then it is obviously your and your cohorts intention to use cunning, guile and deception to achieve your means. This is nothing more than cowardice. Until you and your PLP cohorts stand up for what you believe by being sincere about your REAL thoughts on his leadership, then this is still apathy. Apathy becomes action when strong people grow tired of the political trickery and ruses, and decide that apathy is death.
Well Muddo 05-11-08, - 11:09 PM If Cecil Wallace Whitfield and the other Dissident 8 thought like you, would there be a Free PLP? They didn't have time for trickery. Perhaps Lynden Pindling's astute political senses made these kind of underhanded tactics impossible. Hence, Perry Christie's political failures.
When your efforts fail, many in the public will not even know about your efforts, they'll only assume that all of the PLP's lack backbone, i.e. are apathetic. If Perry Christie chooses to lead the PLP into the next election I predict that no one in the party will have the cajones to do anything about it. The PLP will have to suffer a miserable defeat in 2012 to force this detested chieftain into political retirement.
