I have said it before, and I will say it again. If da BDM was serious, they would have a full slate of candidates ready to go by the end of this year.
Not only do they campaign the year before, but on top of that can't even put up the full 41 candidates - noo man dat een gun cut it.
Even when they do name a candidate they sometimes fail to show up in the constituency on nomination day as happened in North Andros last time!

I have never realized how much effect I have had on the PLP untill a few days after the election of 07...
I got a few calls from PLPs what they said was interesting to me... :taped2:
Then here come the KING of all PLP seducer, and his cohorts... it is all about watsayu... BUT like I said to PLPs in the past...I am Bahamian.. I feel I have a right to say my truth..... I have a view... and YES, I will support anything as long as it is not PLP.. cause for me, PLP represents all things evil, crooked and SICK.....
You made yourself feel that you had an effect. The difference between me and you, is that I have supported several FNM candidates and only one did not win. I made donations as you are aware. I am not rabid as you are. Further, you know I am supporting a dark horse for the leadership, as I said, we are holding the reins and will not apply the whip until the last mile. I gat the bridle and whip. Watch me come from the outside and show you how it is done.

THANK YOU! any new party worth their name could
1. court every kid in this country 13-25. That group is your voting block in 2012.
2. After school programs, community centers, scholarships up the wazoo, summer camps...winter break camps....
3. Borrow money and build 2 state of the art communtiy centers in Nassau staffed from 3-7pm M-Sat...
4. Have computers an internet cafe and solid role models to offer classes to those kids. Put another in FPO and a smaller one in North Andros and Abaco. THat's 90% of the seats in the HOA right there for ya!
5. Attend every function and box knock.
6. Hire or attach to your party a press agent and spin doctor. Get on every talk show and in every paper at LEAST TWICE A WEEK!
7.Stay out of the PLP/FNM foolish talk. Your answer to those questions should be "Perry/ Hubert WHO?"
8.Stay above the political fray and help the people at their level of need. You really don't have to give away a whole lot. Deal with the kids. Parents LOVE people who are helping out their kids.
Over 50% of the Bahamas electorate is under 45. Win the youth vote and you can RIGHT your OWN ticket in the HOA.
10 Million will do it. A good accountant to make sure your funds aren't pilfered is important. They could make back that 10 million in less thatn one year as the governing party.
WIN THE KIDS, WIN THE PARENTS!

How will a party make back money as the governing party? Isnt this what we are conerned with?

It will take much more than $10 million. We have looked at the numbers, and in order to put in place a proper infrastructure for a new party from the ground up - $10 million wont do. Even if $10 million will be enough, who is going to donate that money for a speculative party with no return? If you have a 10 year plan, maybe, but certainly not in time for the 2012 elections.

You are in the thick of it, so I suspect you have more financial/ statistical data than I so I won't argue with you there, fine solicitor.

I say 10million because I truly believe that amount strategically spent and properly managed to avoid fraud can be used to stir up goodwill and real change (and I'm not talking bribes LOL)!

Cut out the stupid t-shirts,pom-poms and those silly rallies and you have saved a mint right there.

Barack went from a state legislator to nominee presumptive in 4 years. One keynote speech at the 04 convention clinched it for him, that and smart spending on the part of King and others in Springfield. The big money didn't start rolling in for him until Jan.

It can be done. As much as we like to say our people only want handouts from politicians, I believe they can be won over with real actions from a party that is concerned and uses their meager amounts to help them.

Win the Jr High/ Sr High/COB aged kids. They will be the Bahamian swing vote in 2012. Many Bahamian mothers will vote for you if you "save their boy from destruction!"

Actually, if the FNM keep going like they seem to be now, I think the PLP might have a better chance of winning with a new leader and lots more new blood.

The FNM are going to face similar issues soon themselves.

all the best,

drew
The reason things have gotten off to a bad start in this new FNM term is because of all the "young" new faces!!! They are LOST!! No wonder the PM is disappointed in what they have accomplished so far...

I support experience any day over youth!!! All I care about is that the person is in their right mind!! I don't care about age...We need people who can do what they promised to do!!!

By the way I have never seen a party put out a manifesto in case they become the opposition party so why are people judging the opposition on the same level as they are doing the govt???

The govt is the one with the manifesto!!

The Exotic One

IN MY view any one whom the PLP put forth can do a good job.. the parties mechinary would get behind then and they will have to fight like anyone else... it is always a 50/50 chance...
UNLIKE 2002, Tommy is ma boy.. but it was hard to (LOL)... :taped2:

ANYONE? COME ON NOW NOT EVEN U REALLY BELIEVE THAT!!! IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR PARTIES AT ANYTIME BUT DEATH ALONE TO REPLACE THEIR LEADERSHIP WITH SOMEONE ELSE.. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO NEW MOTIVATION, OR NEW IDEAS!!
:sparky:

What are your thoughts about:
1) Cassius Stewart - Bahamas Democratic Movement
OR
2) Dr. Dexter Johnson - Bahamas National Party

1. Cassius Stewart needs to get moving and show the Bahamian people the BDM will be better then the PLP and FNM regard transparency, accountability, and communication.

2. I don't like many of the stances of the BNP, too narrow minded and xenophopic.

You confusin' me. First you say you thinkin' bout boycottin' da 2012 elections if HI aint runnin da FNM party, den ya say dat you don't vote fi person, yous vote fer country, justice and da Bahamian way. Make up ya damn mind.

You tink HI is da only intelligent Bahamian capable of runnin dis country, da only politician capable of bein' trusted? You serious, cuz my brudda, if dis true we fecked, BIG TIME. Time to wean ourselves off dis dumb fecking reliance on the familiar, we 34 years old now, and we shouldn't still be suckin' bubby.

If you are serious about votin' fer country, justice and da Bahamian way, please tell me that you have faith in GOD and the potential of the Bahamian people, and not in a MAN named HI. IS he a GOD? Y'all stop from talkin' dis dependence on one man shet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
