Are we really living in the times of revelations?

The disaster in Myanmar and this morning eartquake in China coupled with the tornado's touching down constantly all over the southern and midwestern states, has me thinking are we here now?

I was watching a documentary on Dubi last night and on it they had a segment on biometrics and with that segment they discussed a chip that is OUT NOW in which its implanted under your skin and it holds all sorts of information about you. SOUND FAMILIAR.

the cars that drive themselves, the servant robots, vacums that vacum themsleves, the rude children. all of it is coming to pass.

Listen I will be the first to tell you that most of the people you have to take with a grain of salt and formulate your own opinions based on true soul searching and not based on what you were told while growing up becuase there are many contridiction in the bible.

However there are two books of the bible which are dead on and that proverbs and revelations.

I see toooooo many things discussed in those two books that hold true today and evidence of it is all around us.

i encourage everone with in an eye shot of this message to seek god, love your neighbour, give more than you take, live your life in the will of god cuase this aint no time to get it wrong.

Also I am pleased to announce that I have found a church where I belong, the church where god has been leading me.

I encourage you to look into their "Live like you were dying" series.

SpamStopper suggest you stop reading that book and going to that Church, if thats what they are teaching you. If you know anything about History, things that happen these days are light into comparison to the death tolls in the past. Just get on with life and live it. Sh1t happens.

The Book of Revelations was written about Roman times and the decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

taken from the thread about the china earth quake, sorry i cant remeber who post it:

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

so true are the words, regardless of who wrote it said it or thought it. its was writtten thousands of years ago and now we are living it.

Someone please tell the young man and everyone else who is bound to follow, spitting the same "end time" regurgitations, that:

1. wars have been around since from since man existed
2. nations/kingdoms not liking other nations/kingdoms has occurred from the time man decided to form his own own nations/kingdoms
3. famines are nothing new
4. pestilence is nothing new
5. earthquakes are definitely nothing new as the tectonic plates are in a constant state of flux

Try again. Actually...No. Don't.

we all know that but ....

Yes, the end times are upon us. All Christians are directed to run to the caves, start praying, do corporeal works of mercy, spent all your time praying, give alms to the poor and wait for the rapture. Keep waiting until further notice, but you must stay indoors out of the way. Turn off your computers (all the computer chips have 666 the mark of the AntiChrist in them) and wait for your just rewards.

.......
Every generation thinks they are! Even St Paul was sure it was just around the corner. :)

Think about World War II. If there was ever a candidate for end times that would have been it. An evil ruler that took over Europe and other places in the world. God’s chosen people being exterminated. The whole world involved in war. Millions dead. But it was not the end of times.

That brings up another question. Why would people cheer its coming? If the Bible is to be believed it will be a time of suffering, death, pain and horrors that have never been seen. Why would a loving group of people (like Christians are supposed to be) wish it would happen and happen soon?

It would seem to me that an all knowing, all loving, God could think of a better way to end things without reverting to violence on such a scale. It reminds me of a Dictator who has lost control so he seeks to destroy because that is all he knows how to do.

But we can put that all out of our minds. Lurker is right: “The Book of Revelations was written about Roman times and the decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.”

In truth, I too take these admonitions with a grain of salt. But then why tempt fate?

If it don't do you a piece of good hoping and living for the Pearly Gates, Mansion Over The Hilltop, Streets Of Gold et al).....It sure 'aint gonna do you no harm.

Christians have that escape clause you know!

For some of us our end time may very well be tomorrow or next week. For others their end time has passed.

Bahmaboy,
I think you also need to read the story of Noah.
When he told the people of the impending flood they mocked him and said he was crazy...until the rain came. Remember, no one knows the day nor the hour; He will come like a thief in the night...not to trick us, but to catch us in our true state.
1. wars have been around since from since man existed -"Yes, but not with the threat of nuclear fallout":sparky:
2. nations/kingdoms not liking other nations/kingdoms has occurred from the time man decided to form his own own nations/kingdoms - "Yes, but not with the capacity and desire to wipe each other off the face of the planet"
3. famines are nothing new - "With all the food we have we could feed the world...men shall be lovers of themselves"
4. pestilence is nothing new - "Yes, what we have are in fact new and sorry to say, more to come; and while we were able to handle POLIO and yellow fever; Aids and Cancer still killing without cure"
5. earthquakes are definitely nothing new as the tectonic plates are in a constant state of flux - "unless you have lived for a hundred years, you are regurgitating what's in the text book"
Take heart my friends, the Lord is with us.

Is da sinners dem who worried, thinking: 'boy what if dat my mommie and pastor dem was right?'That's a false statement if I've ever heard one. The only people obsessed with the afterlife are the ones who actually adhere to that belief system. Also, it is cowardly to live life according to a belief system as a "just in case" measure. It is self-deception at best.

It is christians who continuously throw out warnings and threats of damnation, you know. The rest off the world would actually keep on living life without a care.

Need proof of what I am saying?

Just look at the any thread on this board that has anything to do with religion. Most times it is a christian who is chastising a non-christian and/or telling others that chrisitianity is the antidote to all evil in the world.

While no one is saying that religion doesn't have its place, some believers need to stop "wearing" their affiliation like a obnoxious set of massive gold chains.
