What is needed is a proper education in all areas (social, physical, intellectual, cultural, emotional and spiritual) for all upcoming generations.

I usually throw in the link for my thread about boarding schools at this point, but no one in the government seems to be listening. Like I've always said, the private sector will be the saving grace of this nation, point blank.

We are breeding a nation of ignorant, uncontrollable and stubborn people. Although my words are harsh, this is fact and not fiction. If we can isolate upcoming generations from the dysfunction that goes on in many homes in this nation and teach them according to a stringent plan of development, we will be able to turn this country around by the next election.

People will forget about this stabbing by next month though, so what does it matter at this point?

i wouldnt be surprised if kerzner buy all of cabbage beach and only reserve it for his guests. thank God that it wasnt a tourist. we are killing our own tourism industry. see thats what happen when govt fail to reign in on these young men. i think.....not think BAN all alcohol and smoking in public places such as the beaches, downtown, fish fry anywhere except your yard! this will definitely cut down some of the incidences that is happening around this country. when these young men high, drunk and listening to these violent reggae music their head is trip and they want to fight. govt better heed these words. :hammer::hammer::hammer:

Any response to those who feel that is not the duty of the Govt or anyone/any group to infringe on the rights of society?

The sad part of that truth you stated is the fact that something else juss as serious or even more serious will occur long before that to cause us to forget, (well except for his family and friends off course who my sympathy goes out too)

They let it get too far is all .. lawless society .. nobody cares.
They need security or a beach patrol .. no liquor should be allowed on the beach.
What laws are you talking about??

What makes you believe that there is something wrong with killing someone or robbing them???

the government needs to say something asap. any types of murders around tourism areas especially on holidays is not good for us and with crime out of control lets pray good we don't lose tourist after this. we need to start hanging now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While i agree that it is not good for the economy and tourism, what about our own people. Do you realise how many Bahamians are terrified to come out of their own homes at night. We Bahamians live in fear, how can we say it is better in the Bahamas????

I will tell you why....We have turned our back on God!!! We are teaching our children that things tell people who you are...We tell them that there is no God but when they do wrong we want to tell them to follow the things from the bible!!

We are confusing our children and they are rebelling because we are hypocrites!!

We think that the world can solve our problems.....and it can't!! It's getting worse by the day!!

The almighty dollar runs things in today's Bahamas!!

Interesting Thread, I already responded but I would encourage others to check it out, I personally would like to see it happen but back to the subject at hand, come on Bahamian people, cant we all juss get along, no more murders man, live in love and unity. Lets get back to basics and put God and his teachings first, even if you dont believe in God, still read the Bible so that he will show you how to live in love.

I get where you are coming from, but since we are so tourism based, we are thinking of our own people when we speak of things detrimental to tourism. Perhaps we can and perhaps we should change that, but that is where we are today.

I don't think it is so much that we rather things happen to our own than to tourists, it is that we realize that things happening to tourists are happening to us all.

Now, I am not saying I am right there with that thinking. And I am not defending that sort of thinking. I am just saying that I think the general attitude may be a bit more nuanced than you propose.

all the best,

Like I say, it would be a little tricky to do that because the tourist are also allowed to drink on the Beaches. That could cause some discrimination issues, what you tink?
