The FNM has been in power for one year now, how do you think they are doing regarding their promises made in the FNM manifesto about the environment? There were 18 points and steps the FNM promised to take.

-Initiate programmes to strengthen vulnerable costal areas
-Enact legislation to further protect coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangroves
-Increase marine protected areas to better preserve our marine biodiversity

-Reconstitute The Bahamas Environment Science and Technology Commission (BEST) as an independent statutory authority

-Require that all new construction comply with the Town Planning and Building Control Regulations

-Retain the ownership of all Government-owned water-bearing lands as part of the Bahamian patrimony
-Enact legislation for the regulation and the provision of guidelines for Environmental Impact Assessments for all developers
-Carry out Social Impact Assessments of all major developments
-Encourage the incorporation of rain water tanks and water catchments in buildings over an established square footage
-Plant sea oats and other indigenous plants to protect sand dunes and other fragile coastal zones

Well the Duties have next to doubled!!!!!

So 1 year later and they haven't come close to fulfilling that one. :hammer:

I did write a letter to PM like 2 days ago and it was also about his promises in FNM manifesto and about the responsibility and obligations which he has towards the Bahamas. It should get into his office so I'll see.

I arranged it with a one person from GB to deliver the letter. Yeah, it would take some months if I sent it via mail.

ALL KNOWS that.. he is a great person. I can say without any fear that he is an honest and despite what is said he is also a HUMBLE man... and a man full of God's grace...

What about the Manifesto on the environment, that is the question. I believe he is an honest man, but Humble, give me a break.
