O yea ... I grew up hearing them all the time.

"Church lemme tell you'll what the Lord has done for me dis pass wk..." and on the older folk would go.... taking no blessing for granted, crediting God, telling of mercy and grace, miracles and daily provision..." and we, the children had NO reason to doubt our favourite songs such as

Jesus loves me this I know, for The Bible tells me so...
Jesus love the little children ALL the children of the world...
What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus....

The truths in these songs continue to resonate in my heart; and, God (of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob) continues to "walk with me, talk with me and..." confirms that I am His own!

I have a testimony! Do you? :bouncy:

There was a drunk in my church when I was growing up, she would always say these words and sing this song..

GOD BLESS HER SOUL!

I want to thank the lord for my lil space right here tonight,
not on no strenght of mine but on the wonderful strenght of the lord,
Church, amazing grace how sweet the sound, that save a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see!

Those who know the "verch"(exact words) of prayer, pray my strenght in the Lord. (The word is suppose to be virtue)

Then she would try to sing IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR until her 1/2 pint fall out her bosom or the usher manhandle her to put her outside,

where she would proceed to cuss out everybody!!

I was sad when she died, she was the life of the Testilying umm um, I mean Testimony Service.

I have a testimony! Do you? :bouncy:

Yeah, I do. It is summed up in Sanskrit:

Om Namah Shivaya

I honour the divinity that resides in me.

And when you run out of YOU... you shall reach for the God who presides over YOU! May you then discover that He draws Men to Himself and find in Him the one most important thing in life --- only ONE thing is truly important ya know.

My testimony is God has been so good to me and for no reason at all. I feel as though I am the luckiest man in the world and I have more than anybody should.

The mere fact that I have a roof over my head, a car in the driveway, a fride full of food all I am undeserving of.

No matter what I am truely thankful

ahhh my little grasshopper. I didn't say that the divinity in me ... was me. Subtle yet extremely powerful difference.

OK well here is the story (true by the way) Several years ago now we attended the funeral for a family member (in Nassau by the way, at a baptist church run by someone who is now a high-powered Bishop) This family member had caught his wife spilligating and he was devastated, he drove his car off of an area in Southern NP into the sea, succeeding in killing himself and one of his children. At his funeral, where everyone was in total shock, as you can imagine, the pastor invited people to start testifying. When no-one responded, he got real mad and start one piece of carryin on, still no-one responded, in fact some of us got up at this point and walked out. He then started berating the members of the congregation that remained again and refused to end the service until someone decided to bare their soul. On completion of that, he passed around the offering plate and asked for everyone to dig deep to support the church.

I don't mind telling you, many of us have refused to ever step foot in that church again even though it is only round the corner from the family homestead!
