Happened recently in the last hour or so
If this is so, what a sad day in the Bahamas even though I know it has happened before!!

But remember HI said that we the "good people" don't have anything to worry about because the criminals are killing each other!!!

There is something that has been bothering me for several months though.....Why are so many businessmen being shot or killed in Grand Bahama??? Are they criminals also?? If I can remember correctly, about 3 or 4 were killed over the past year and lately another was shot when he arrived home during the night!!!

As hard as things are in GB, why are the criminals trying their best to make it harder??
Does anyone think these shootings have anything to do with politics or is it just that those businessmen were just "crooked businessmen"?? I was just wondering

If this is so those foreign news stations are going to dig into our murder rate over the past years and any other time any tourist was injured and on and on....This is not going to be good!! The world will know!! Trouble in paradise!! May God help us!

Best wishes to the shot tourist!!!

This is not going to be good....ppl who were coming despite the slow economy in the US will probably go to Cancum or Cabo now!

A well known person in the public light in the Bahamas, was closing the gate to his house in Cable Beach when he heard a woman screaming upon investigation he learned her companion was shot during a robbery, a private citizen was flagged down and the victim a tourist to our country was then taken to the hospital and is currently in surgery. What is wrong with our country, our livelihood is being attacked. Get the guns and criminals off the street.:hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:

Anyway we only hurting 'us'

The news says he/she is in serious condition, I really hope they pull though....

Hmmmmmmmmm, we haven't had an "effective" MONS in what......about 6 years now. The former and present have both been quite underwhelming in that position.

One might ask, "what do you expect in a Minister?"

Good question...take the Minister of Social Services. While I have personal beefs with Algernon Allen, he was very effective in that Ministry. He was seen and he made sure he blew his horn. If he was bullsheeting us, he did a good job. Compare his.................with the lacklustre performance of Melanie Griffin. Quite different. Maybe she felt overshadowed by the more "intelligent" members of her party. But to ME, not only was she boring, she was also another underwhelming Minister.

i'm sorry to hear about the tourist. that is rather unfortunate. hope he/she pulls through it all okay.

but what pisses me off the most about this.....NOW....that a tourist has felt what Bahamians have been feeling for the past coupla years......i bet we'll see some things falling into place. THAT is the saddest thing about all of this. it had to take a tourist getting injured to open their eyes to what the people have been crying about all along. *smh*

and i highly doubt we're going to be put on the stoplist/blacklist......whatever list. not over this one incident. if they were to blacklist every country their citizens got injured in, they'd all be sitting over there twiddling their thumbs. however, if this becomes a pattern, we're definitely up ISH creek w/o a paddle.
