My brother check out what they did on Charles Saunders Highway and Seabreeze Dr.
I hear that the land was BULLDOZED for a "PARK" if indeed it is for a "PARK" why the devil bull doze all those native trees?
I cannot for the life of me understand how some one can take a virgin piece of land and just clear cut, I did my rounds around this little Island of ours and the "PARKS" are depolorable, basket ball courts and swings sets and plastic play sets under the BLAZING sun.
My God, Parks should be lush and inviting.
I agree with you 100% we need a GREEN policy and enforce the law!
We as a people may wake up, hope it wont be too late.BEFORE I comment, let me see the highway... YES we need green spaces ... but we need to think first before we start cutting down more trees.... I know for sure as a family islander who likes to sit under cool trees that in Nassau, it is hard to find any... I mean none at all.. NO wonder it is so hot... all of the time in Nassau.. and no relief....

I knew that something like this would happen sooner or later.I pray that this does not harm our tourism more than it already is. Man all these government are the same talk talk ,everyone has the solution to the Bahamas problems until they get in power. WE NEED TO START HANGING,AND STOP WAITING ON SOME OLD WRINKLE MEN TO DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF THE BAHAMAS."privy council" God help us all.

so apparently it was Ruby Avenue around 10pm and a car pulled up on the tourist and told them to give him money and then somehow the robber just shot the tourist in the chest. Security for PC house heard it and found the tourist on the ground and waved down a private car to take the tourist to the hospital.

Everytime someone says that now I get annoyed.

Tourism is gone.

Forget about tourism. Forget it exist.

What if tourism survives, does that mean we let Bahamians continue to kill each other, just because tourism exists? Have we traded away our own sence of security and right to live and access to happiness as humans much less Bahamians....just for a flippin industry? Are we that stupid?

it is reported that the gentleman refused to co-operate with the robbers and was shot or refusing to give up his money.

but, on this story, sorry i need to hear the whole story first. some tourists arent the perky, nice, law abiding citizens you would expect them to be. let me quite frank: it would not surprise me ONE BIT if this were a drug deal gone bad. I watched two men meet right on junkanoo beach one tourist, one bahamian, (dont jump to conclusions, i heard accents) and they were dealing. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE POLICE STATION!!!!!!:sparky:
There is a picture of Flickr or PBase or some other photo web site, with two college age white tourists smoking a joint in front of the Fort Charlotte police station, they are posing on either side of the Police Dept plaque that is affixed to the wall, with the joint in the center, and smoke rising off of it. Classic!

like i said on that racism thread, i wont comment until i've heard the whole story.........lord have mercy.
i agree that the government has not been doing anything to help the crime situation. what can they do though? place more policemen on the job? set up neighbourhood watches? trust me, we need to start policing OURSELVES! one of these days (God forbid) we'll all be shuffled into the interior of new providence and wont be allowed in the places where tourists frequent.
Yay! just what some of us have always wanted: to be JUST like Jamaica! :sparky:

so like i said, half and half. the sooner we learn how to regulate and stop the drugs and guns coming into our country, the sooner the crime will stop. that takes the manpower of ALL OF US!!!! no no no, dont say that you cant do it, if you see somethin goin down, you call the police hotline and you tell dem! and das real talk.

Yeah but this is how it is here, remember ma boy get attacked with axes for not giving some crack head robbers/murderers a couple dollars one night .. they try kill him for that .. they didnt know he wasnt a tourist and obviously they didn't care plus Bahamian or Tourist, its just as bad. He wasn't trying to do nothing but buy some food. When they get catch they get 17 months in prison, if they even spent that much time. They tried to kill him, but the law labeled it as assault or something pathetic like that.

BUT this is sad.. and I feel that it may hit the Bahamas... SOME ONE has to pay... and all criminals has to be PUNISHED.. for their crimes against Bahamians and Tourist alike.......
