check out this reply!:
I was in Nassau three weeks ago on vacation. Cruised in on the Sovereign of the Seas. If you play it clean I can't see how this could happen. They must have made a wrong turn, down the wrong alley, at the wrong time of night, and ran into the wrong people. Sounds like they were buying pot. Just my opinion.
Little do they know .. where that is.
Rodrick 05-15-08, - 10:54 PM Yeah but this is how it is here, remember ma boy get attacked with axes for not giving some crack head robbers/murderers a couple dollars one night .. they try kill him for that .. they didnt know he wasnt a tourist and obviously they didn't care plus Bahamian or Tourist, its just as bad. He wasn't trying to do nothing but buy some food. When they get catch they get 17 months in prison, if they even spent that much time. They tried to kill him, but the law labeled it as assault or something pathetic like that.
So thats the axe story.:)

Maybe we should fix the disease, and not the symptoms?
bahama_rudest 05-15-08, - 11:15 PM My problem with Dr. Minnis is simple.. and all know it.. IT is the enviroment.. Nassau ti too dirty.. ONE year later and Nassau is worst.... a plan has to be developed to clean up the city RIGHT AWAY... BUT IN DOING SO.. the enviroment needs to be protected.. a GREEN policy has to be developed....
i would have to disagree with you on this. compared to years past nassau is much cleaner. look at the side streets, the round abouts, the high ways, and as of late renevotion of arawak cay which is still under construction. im proud of dr minnis for getting the private sector involved in keeping our country clean. vendors at arawak and potters cay cleaning up after themselves, businesses adopting roundabouts, businesses downtown repainting their buildings, garbage being picked up on time etc. unfortunately, you have some folks who like throw their litter in your yard, and graffiti on your wall. but i think he doing a excellent job

Nassau Streets are still a mess .. walk down a street in Nassau and all you will smell is Urine, see Dead animals mash up all over the place, Litter everywhere, Horrid liquid all over the place from the back of Garbage Trucks .. it has always been and is still. As to the vendors, so they cleaning up after they pee all over the side of a building on Prince George Warf?
As to the Environment of Nassau, its finished. We got one big smokey smelly island now.
Someone got alot of work on their hands.
sweetjoey 05-15-08, - 11:41 PM A well known person in the public light in the Bahamas, was closing the gate to his house in Cable Beach when he heard a woman screaming upon investigation he learned her companion was shot during a robbery, a private citizen was flagged down and the victim a tourist to our country was then taken to the hospital and is currently in surgery. What is wrong with our country, our livelihood is being attacked. Get the guns and criminals off the street.:hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:
we will be running soon, every one no what are problem is they turn their eyes away from it.
YorickBrown 05-15-08, - 11:46 PM The rest though - How about a serious of public charter-magnet schools along with science/art academies?. The same cutting edge curriculum could be presented. Parental involvment would be mandatory and become the norm as a culture of true scholastic excellence sweeps our nation.
Whatsayu?? Can ya picture it!Man Sunny,
I een ga lie. I don't have much faith in SOME of these parents anymore. These kids nowadays are so bright and have the world at their fingertips, but the things that I see some parents do make me cringe sometimes.
A lot of these kids need saving, from themselves and their parents.
