I have had the occasion to go back and forth to Jamaica for a number of years until 2003, and believe me when I say I was toooo happy to be on a flight out of Jamaica which if I have me way will be my last.
I pray The Bahamas never see the level of violence portrayed in that documentary.

Some people in this country look up to these people as heroes. We have already started by haveing the audacity to shoot people openly on Bay Street.

our weapons hold looks like a mess to that one .,. ours got weapons to the roof and all over the place .. that one looks kind of organized.

Well the drug trade is one of the biggest reasons. Yardie fisherman on lil dinghy's go to Haiti [Who get all der weapons] with a sack of ganja and this is traded for high powered automatic weapons. Also Politricks perpetuate the situation to profit off of it. In the 80's with cocaine becoming the drug of choice politrickians started givin guns to the rude bwoys of impoverished areas to intimidate the ppl of the area to vote 4 them. What happens is if that politician wins a seat 4 dat area, they gunmen they arm are giving all the contracts for the area [all types of works] Half {maybe more} of the people in high society are the big players in illegal activity. To add insult to injury the police are corrupt they themselves are the biggest gunmen. They operate as if they in the wild west [shoot first, ask questions later] If our police were like that our children wouldnt dare to riot. Whatever you do never try to run away from them cuz dem will shoot ya cold. but if ya get lil money ya can get out of many situations. Tho in the country crime no bother ppl

Crime has increased outside of Kingston, particularly in Montego Bay and rural areas. Of course it bothers them, it would bother anyone to have to deal with that level of crime and corruption. They have been desensitized!
