This still doesnt establish that there was a marriage between David and Jonathan.
1 Samuel 18 (King James Version)

1And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

2And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.

3Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

and a covenant joining 2 people in love is what??

not necessarily a marriage. so vicky, if i do this thing with my best friend right now, are we married?

sad as i am, i actually see your point. these two did love each other, and committed themselves to one another. but in a marriage? no. in love? yes.
dont forget the three types of love.......eros, philios, agape. and a host of others. I got the impression that Jonathan and David loved each other like brothers, and we dont know what the contents of this covenant were. they may have been in love, but was the covenant made OUT OF LOVE?

yes i know im nit-picking, but hey, let's get technical.

down low marriage of convenience even back then. please note there is no mention of love to the sister.Stop being silly. The same scripture said all of Israel loved David...metinks that would include Jonathan and his sister. BOL hard hard @ "down low marriage of convenience". Bey dat scripture bout reprobates does ring truer & truer each & erry day.

Please stop being asinine, this chapter is not saying what you are trying to imply! maybe if you read a modern translation they may break it down a bit better for you since that particular translation is causing your heart rate to speed up.
Why don' you take a break?

of course!!!!! :D :hammer:

Suga its been happening for years. None of us will ever know what God truly intended for us to know, because the Bible was written by men inspired by God. so its just like the law, open for interpretation and scrutiny. I still dont get it. :D I like Vicky's spirit though, persistent! When i tryna argue some grades, i wan Vicky come wit me!!!! :hammer:

1 Samuel 18
Saul's Jealousy of David
1 After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return to his father's house. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.
