Truly Vicky, I fail to see why the idea of Beastiality so upsets you. To the practitioners, it is simply the kind of sex they prefer and would also wish to claim their constitutional right to have. However, it is, and remains, an illegal act. Its crualty to animals plain and simple they can't give consent. Just like same sex marriage.
Your photograph attached to your posts as well as your quote from the musical La Cage Aux Faux gives me some insight into some of your deeper thoughts. Really what do you see in the photo graph?? "I am what I am, I don't want praise, I don't want pity - I beat my own drum, some say its noise, some say it's pretty" the lyrics from the Broadway hit were designed to portray the homosexual lifestyle as a great expression of freedom. Its a song relesed by Gloria Gaynor I also like Mulan "Refelections" Christina Aguilera. Neil Young "When God Made Me"
Jordan Sparks "This Is My Now" Melissa Etheridge "Message To Myself". I most especialy like "Free" writen and relesed by Stevie Wonder and redone by Dana International from Isreal. Her Music Video
Then this is this one performed right in Isreal http://youtube.com/watch?v=_3Oxk2ufHWkhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=Xs_ej2TxLDY
Here she won the Eurovision 1998 song contest.

However out of all you should watch this interview

However, the true reasoning behind the concept and production of the Broadway play was simply to do damage control by delivering a desperately needed Public Relations exercise with great choreography and musical arrangements, according to Wikepedia:
La Cage aux Folles (musical)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"A gay-themed project was risky in the early years of the AIDS epidemic, even though many Broadway performers, crew members, and devotees were homosexual. But the creative team - all gay men - felt that such a show was the tonic needed by those suffering from the illness and to combat the overt homophobia that had surfaced in some quarters due to the threat posed by the epidemic.
Although La Cage was Broadway's first gay-themed musical, it was nevertheless a mainstream production. Laurents didn't allow his lead characters so much as a peck on the cheek for fear that he might offend his audience. It was an old-fashioned production in the best sense - elaborate costumes by veteran Theoni V. Aldredge, exquisite sets, glamorous chorus girls (including mostly boys in drag), and a lushly romantic score. "
At that time, I thought the song "I am what I am" was simply an upbeat tune with witty lyrics, until I found out the background and plot of the play. Now I know that it is not a harmless ditty but a very clever bit of programming which is designed to encourage the singers and the listeners to disregard traditional values and norms. When you are a teeager with raging hormones and a headful of theories and a burning desire to live comfortably, these suggestions are easily assimilated as original thoughts. I knew since I was five years old that would be 1963. I never even heard of La Cage Aux Faux until I saw the video which would I rented from Supper Video. I was well into my adult years married to my first wife with a child and struggeling with my identity. So don't try to play psych with me as you have no clue as to the condition of gender dysphoria or my life. May I suggest you study up a bit then try comming at me..
There is always an abundance of sexually deviant seniors willing to encourage younger persons to continue down the path of sexual and identity experimentation,I was never exposed to any of what you say so stop making a fool of yourself since financing and fueling the fantasy, results in their own sexual gratification, while they callously disregard the mental confusion suffered by their gullible victim and the early death by the sexually transmitted by HIV which often follows.
The late Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries in Ft. Lauderdale saw the need to set up a special ministry for persons who were conflicted by gender identity. He had set up a special facility to house those persons willing to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, where special Councillors would minister and teach The Word to the new converts over a six (6) month period. What I saw was men who were former Drag Queens, dressed in formal wedding attire as they walked down the aisle to marry their formerly 'Butch' wives also attired in beautiful wedding gowns. Foolish person Drag has nothing to do with the medical condition of Gender Dysphoria. My wife is not butch in any way.
I'm sharing this information with you Vicky, because I want you to know that nothing is too hard for God and that whatever your experiences or influences, He is fully aware of the whole episode and is not shocked or dismayed. You are not the first person who has had this experience. There are other solutions. Please search them out. Just as I mentioned those who would sing you the "Scarecrow's Song" from the "WIZ" musical, insisting that "You can't win, you can't break even and you can't get out of the game!"
The truh is that you can win and the fact that your name is not already in the obituary column means that you are being kept by His Grace for His purposes, and he/she told you the purpose he/she intenads for me or are you just assuming this. After all in your faith God the Creator created Satan for his purpose as well. which is always the we might have an opportunity to choose Him. Again, nothing is too hard for the Lord!
(Jeremiah 32:17).
God Bless!

Incorrect....to liken homosexuality to bestiality or that has been suggested in this thread to polygamy is egregious and unfair...
When compared the two don't equate....but in a futile attempt to defend your baseless conclusions people like you will use any manner of fallacious rhetoric... The parallels between a homosexual union and a heterosexual union are rooted in the fact that the variables are basically the same.... TWO consenting, non related adults who love each other and are committed to monogamy... Those are the grounds for which we petition for EQUAL rights...Whereas TWO consenting non related HUMAN heterosexual adults (where they are respectively male and female)have the right to marry, our contention is that TWO consenting non related HUMAN adults (where perhaps both are male or both are female) should be afforded the same rights....
We argue ad nauseum the presumed outcome or "purpose" of marriage....that is...(as is mentioned in this thread:

economic security for two partners
providing a stable environment for raising children (For societies preservation and ultimate benefit)
companionship...
Validating commitment between TWO adults
Monogamy

THAT my dear is the discussion we are having... And if we make the assumption that marriage by definition or by creation is to manifest these things, to deny homosexuals the right to do so SHOULD be accompanied with an argument that CLEARLY illustrates their (homosexuals) inability to do so...To date no argument has been presented in that regard...
A polygamist, bestiality, or those involved in incestuous relationships cannot argue effectively on grounds of equality in this regard based on the vast difference in the variables....
If you so chose you can argue the rights of those involved in bestiality, polygamy and incest in another thread....But as I'm sure and confident in your ability to read this thread is dedicated to addressing and discussing the rights of Gay persons to marry in the Bahamas...No amount of red herring will disguise this thread's purpose...Ms. Russell IF we are to have a sensible conversation please follow the rules of SENSIBLE debate...
I can sit here and question your reasoning...even the relevance...But somehow I'm convinced that it is a waste of time..In the grand scheme of things this play its outcome or success really has NOTHING to do with this thread...Redherring at its best...Lets proceed thinking that somehow you have made a point...
Are we talking about child sexual predators or Gay agitating for Rights to be married in the Bahamas?....Despite your sick and twisted reasoning they are BY FAR two different conversations....Mind you... I would gladly oblige you in another thread to discuss the evils of Child Molestation and how it's pandemic even in our little country...steming straight across the sexual orientation/gender/race divide...from Incestuous abuse to teenage pregnancy where fathers are "prominent" members of society leaving single mothers to raise children...to young boys being molested by both those who "claim" to be heterosexual and those that don't....Surely this is a serious problem...But by no chance can you equate Homosexuality with this behaviour....WELL at least what I should say is...I wont allow you to...
All inspiring...REALLY it is.... and IM SURE your heart was full as you sat "lovingly" responding to Vicky... But have you ever heard the expression "talking but not saying anything"??....If only that saying was applicable to the wonderful world of cyberspace....Maybe it is...but NAHHH!!..."typing and not saying anything" isn't as effective...While your proselytising I'm sure is appreciated by your readers it certainly has no bearing on this thread...and certainly could have been done via PM...Perhaps maybe after your prayer service is done we can get back to what the thread is really about?
God loves even you hunny!...

Well said but as long as she wants to pontifacate I will oblige her with responces as with each one she looks more silly. I don't think she has grasped I don't seek salvation in her faith I don't believe in it any more. I live the way of life the prophet Jesus said we should live(which I do not take as fact but faith). I don't care about the OT as those that quote it can't live by it them selves. Or the ramblings of Paul as he is like any other preacher that never met Jesus who claims them selves to be disciple's of Jesus. After all there is no proof Paul even existed.

Besides the fact non have taken the challange of showing where the prophet Jesus made any referance to homosexuality.
Please get on with the debate as it is what is needed I will deal with the mumbo jumbo at the same time.

laacmc, I would suggest that you go back and read the article that vicky posted closely. This is called basic comprehension of the written word. In that article, it describes how the Y gene is expressed intrauterinely to create a female gender identity while the SRY gene is the testes determinant hormone. This is not about perceptual things in the brain -- this is about physical gonadal change -- and that is the context of gender identity of this article. No where in this article does it talk about gender dysphoria.
I realise that there is some complexity to this article, but can't you see that?
Perceptual gender dysphoria is just as real as epilepsy, narcolepsy and such. But like those other conditions, there is hope with hypocreatine, and dopamine altering regimes within the brain through adminstered neurotransmitter therapies. Pardon me, but your ignorance is showing.
You can ty amd make it what you like
http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic2789.htm

A child's gender development, meaning maturation of gender identity, clearly begins in the intrauterine stage. Hormone-induced sexual dimorphism in the growing fetus probably plays a primary role. This is apparent in the fact that, most commonly, female sex corresponds with female gender, just as male sex and male gender are commonly linked.

Initially, all human fetuses are female, in that the default pathway is to develop into a female. During the eighth week of gestation, the presence of a Y chromosome and a functional locus for the SRY gene product, also called the testes determining factor (TDF), determines if testicular development will occur. This process converts the inherently female fetus into a male one, as a steadily increasing surge of testosterone is then produced by the testes. Much of the testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone, which is the key hormone to virilize the fetus. Along the biochemical pathway, other recently identified gene products likely play an additional role in the masculinization of the fetus.

enjoy oh and please try again

Thanking God that He made you a Bahamian. As I read your posts, it appears that there is yet hope that we might navigate safely past this critical juncture. But this may be mere wishful thinking on my part, since the most ardent defenders of the Bahamian Dream have strangely been sent on foreign soil.
Stranger still is the reality of a Website which boasts over 8000 members, yet never seems to generate more than a few threads of basic human decency. The future for The Bahamas,My Dear Lurker, is not looking too bright.
My limited understanding of Scripture directs me to conclude that God is debating the option of giving our place to those 8 million people to the South, changing our national language to Creole and allowing His name to be removed from our Constitution. It's known in Scripture as the Curse of Deuteronomy 28. Verse 33 states: "A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labour produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. Verse 34. The sights you see will drive you mad." NIV
Please keep fighting!
The Creator created all the earth for all the people. How do you know that this is not the promised land for the people who speak Creole. After all it was taken from the indians that were here before us. So the same thing was done in the past.

Did you note that my conversation was addressed specifically to vicky? For as long as Vicky wishes to engage me in dialogue, I will respond.

Ms. Russell....With all due respect... as I understand it...this is an open forum...thus allowing ALL members to answer anything of interest to them....Had you ( and really in the future if you intend to) wished to have a personal conversation with Vicky then the site features allow for private messaging...which I eluded to in my previous post...Pardon me though...you are absolutely right...I did interject into your "specific" response to Vicky....but merely on the grounds that what you posted was for public viewing and made some points that I found objectionable...I will not apologize though for expressing my opinions...As long as things are posted for public view I will exercise my right as a member of this forum to respond...this isn't hingent on whether you respond back or not...

N.B. Not one word posted had anything to do with what you have said or what you are now saying.

I apologize that what I said went over your head....But they not only addressed what you said...but diverted the thread back to it's original purpose...sorry for being the voice of reason....

For the last time, I do not wish to have a converstion with you about anything. Your ideas are the head of the snake which will be cut off before it swallows us whole!
Away with you!
You must fail to realize that when I respond seemingly to you (in this instance) it is not a personal response...It is merely to address the points you raise...I will agree where I find agreement and conversely disagree as such...
