View Full Version : Gays say they can marry in the Bahamas

Just sharing some early morning humor on the "Brokeback Mountain" movie and the danger of the psychological seduction of the Gay Agenda by Larry David, who also appears in the HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

Cowboys Are My Weakness
By LARRY DAVID
SOMEBODY had to write this, and it might as well be me. I haven't seen "Brokeback Mountain," nor do I have any intention of seeing it. In fact, cowboys would have to lasso me, drag me into the theater and tie me to the seat, and even then I would make every effort to close my eyes and cover my ears.
And I love gay people. Hey, I've got gay acquaintances. Good acquaintances, who know they can call me anytime if they had my phone number. I'm for gay marriage, gay divorce, gay this and gay that. I just don't want to watch two straight men, alone on the prairie, fall in love and kiss and hug and hold hands and whatnot. That's all.
Is that so terrible? Does that mean I'm homophobic? And if I am, well, then that's too bad. Because you can call me any name you want, but I'm still not going to that movie.
To my surprise, I have some straight friends who've not only seen the movie but liked it. "One of the best love stories ever," one gushed. Another went on, "Oh, my God, you completely forget that it's two men. You in particular will love it."
"Why me?"
"You just will, trust me."
But I don't trust him. If two cowboys, male icons who are 100 percent all-man, can succumb, what chance to do I have, half- to a quarter of a man, depending on whom I'm with at the time? I'm a very susceptible person, easily influenced, a natural-born follower with no sales-resistance. When I walk into a store, clerks wrestle one another trying to get to me first. My wife won't let me watch infomercials because of all the junk I've ordered that's now piled up in the garage. My medicine cabinet is filled with vitamins and bald cures.
So who's to say I won't become enamored with the whole gay business? Let's face it, there is some appeal there. I know I've always gotten along great with men. I never once paced in my room rehearsing what to say before asking a guy if he wanted to go to the movies. And I generally don't pay for men, which of course is their most appealing attribute.
And gay guys always seem like they're having a great time. At the Christmas party I went to, they were the only ones who sang. Boy that looked like fun. I would love to sing, but this weighty, self-conscious heterosexuality I'm saddled with won't permit it.
I just know if I saw that movie, the voice inside my head that delights in torturing me would have a field day. "You like those cowboys, don't you? They're kind of cute. Go ahead, admit it, they're cute. You can't fool me, gay man. Go ahead, stop fighting it. You're gay! You're gay!"
Not that there's anything wrong with it.
yet another silly post
Lady Russell 10-25-08, - 07:41 AM There is a precentage of the world that is left handed as well (BTW christians used to kill them too). and they come from right handed parrents. Ok so you are saying that if there is gay marriage you and all will become gay ?? I have a kid and there was no third party I am not gay... It is the right way to go for those that are gay. Then both gays and str8s can marry so heterosexuality is a life style???
No you are not trying to turn anyone str8 you just trying to say that those that love the sane sex/gender are less than human and there for not entitled to equal rights.
Shatoya will ably defend her posts, I'm sure. But I must grab at least three hours shut-eye. So bye for now.
Vicky 10-25-08, - 10:33 AM Question for you Vicky, and before I ask you this, please excuse me if someone already asked this question or if someone may have discussed this same question already on this or another thread as I may have overlooked it.
My question is this, while I am sure that out of all of the news stations in Florida we Bahamians have access to, FOX news seems to me to be thee most watched of all by Bahamians (based on homes or business I visit when the news is on) but I would like to know if the commercial with the Wayne and Helene (an elderly man and elderly woman) stating that their fellow citizens should vote no on prop 2 because it will prevent them from being together especially if one of them had to return to the hospital, does that commercial have anything or I should say, is that commercial's primary mission to encourage people to allow Homo-sexuals to have the right to marry and obtain the benefits that hetero-sexuals have?
Why I ask is because why would they use a man and a woman to promote people voting no against prop 2 if domestic partners are defined as persons who are of the same sex in a relationship or I should say Partnership. Why dont they come out and show exactly what their mission is rather than misleading people into believing that a hetero-sexual couple will be affected by persons voting no on a prop that will only affect homo-sexuals?
I guess the moral of my story is why would the persons pushing this commercial use a homo-sexual couple and state outright what their purpose is?
I just dont understand because my thing is this, if you have something to promote or say, do it outright and not try to mislead people with a hidden agenda because by attempting to swing people shows that the message being promoted is not what the majority of the people want to be affected by, infact, I would use myself as an example of one who came outright and ask a few basic questions without any hidden agendas/alterior motives with my recent "Human Biology" thread. How?
Despite the fact that other persons felt that:
1) I was picking on the members of B.I. that are homo-sexual knowing what the answers were along with the fact that how in the world would I know if any of you are infact Homo or Hetero-sexuals as you are the only person I am sure of being a Transgender based on your episode on Contro TV, I dont know who else is Homo or Heterosexual:confused:?
2) I had an alterior motive in asking you and the other names mentions those questions as I randomly chose the names based on previous conversations we had and just because I chose those names on my thread, it does not mean that they are Homo-sexual, they may also be heterosexuals who agree with the homosexual message so I hope that more than clears up any confusion FYI.
But back to the moral of the story.
I came straight up and asked what I had to ask, no hidden agenda/alterior motives as that thread is done and over with unless someone else decides to check it out and post on it. but again Vicky, why mislead people if that is their purpose?
While I would vote yes to Prop 2 if I had the opportunity to voice my opinion, I am asking you Vicky because again, no alterior motives or hidden agendas, I simply feel that you may be one who knows whats going on as I need clarifaction.....
Peace and Love To ALL

My responce is you really need to ask them. But understand there are many heterosexual couple that enter a domestic partnership What I understand is amendment 2 will make all of them even common law marriage null and void.
Amendment 2 is a load of crap
Let me give you a prime example as to why I stand for same sex marriage/union. Just 3 weeks ago 3 days after my Dad was admitted to hospital for his broken hip at 1 am we got a call from the hospital Daddy was having one of his cardio pulmonary episodes. They had Drs from ICU working on him. They had to intubate him and ordered an emergency CT scan. Any way my wife took our granddaughter to her mom and I came straight to the hospital. My wife got there while he was on his way down for the CT scan and so I told her to come through A&E to which I went out to meet her. When we went to go back through a security guard stopped us and said only one of us could go. No explanation would change his mind. I was holding her hand and turned to go through the door and he put himself in the way to when I turned he was in my face. I asked him "do you really want to dance with me if not give in your best shot". I am friendly with most of the guard’s nurses and Drs. Yes they know I am trans because sometimes Daddy asks for his son and some times his daughter. Not one of his guards lifted a finger to back him up. One of the guards I know even said later "he (the other guard) don't know his own guards would beat him for you". It was a good thing there was someone there that knew me as he got us through.
If that was going to be my Dads last moments I had the right to have my wife with me. If I were a man there would have been no questions asked.
Can you imagine if my Dad passed while I had to deal with this guard for all of about 2 or 3 min?
EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL OR NO ONE IS EQUAL.
shatoya 10-25-08, - 01:31 PM LOL this post, and I'm sure even those that disagree with gay marriage will agree, has to be the silliest I've read in a long time. And there's some whoppers on BI!
Just because someone is FOR same sex marriage, it does not mean they are AGAINST heterosexual marriage! They do not have a problem with hetero marriages....heteros have a problem with them! Nice try tryin to turn that around, tho. Kudos. (HAHAHAHA)
As far as draggin ya into it...that's CERTAINLY not the intention of the GBLT community. It's not a matter of trying to turn someone straight or gay...(sorry, but this is the FUNNIEST of the posting)...it's only about marriage.
It's true that two gay men or two lesbian women cannot procreate without assistance. But WHO EVER SAID that gays/lesbians wanted heterosexual marriages to end? LMAO. TOO FUNNY!
Now let me ask you this.....who told you there are two ways to get into this world?? A man and a woman must come together for life to be on this earth, if not man and woman, a sperm (male) and ovum (female) must come together to form a zygote. Now show me anywhere where two males (with all there male organs) or two females (with all their reproductive organs) have been able to produce a child without the help of either a female or a male respectively??
if you can show me one i will consent.....and i will march with you to make sure you can get married.Have a nice day :)

Personally, I think marriage is nothing but a constriction but why do heterosexuals feel they have the right to speak for God when it comes to marriage? And can you really bring up the bible? It's outdated. The one thing you can get from it: be good to your neighbors. Karma. So uh.

But you fail to respond to the fact that not every heterosexual union will result in procreation. So with that trend of thought any heterosexual couple who can't or choose not to procreate should be denied marriage as well...

not at all. you can procreate with someone else. but if a homosexual cant procreate with their patner they cant procreate with another homosexual......you get my drift?

are you dumb or something??...
or do you enjoy arguing the obvious?... who said that two persons can (together) procreate?... I thought the discussion we were having was concerning marriages..
procreation isn't a prequisite to hetereosexual marriages, explain to us why it should be one for homosexual ones...

i did not bring up the bible, i am talking about natural law that supports marriage in our legal system. your arguments are not convincing at all, so i will desist responding to your arguments. Thank you. have a great day:)

Mr or mrs or both.......it takes one to spot one.....if i'm dumb you are dumber......
so why do you think there is an argument against same sex marriage??? because people think it is wrong by nature...thats why i brought up procreation. that alone supports why man and woman is natural and thus supporting why marriage should be between man and woman.
but like i said i dont mind what they do, they are adults... but facts are facts.

my dear...
that reasoning is flawed on so many levels... that it baffles me how simplistic your approach to this is... what happens to a marriage where procreation is either undesired or impossible (they do exist you know)...are they now invalid?...
I guess it was silly of me to assume that marriage is based on the fundamentals of true love... commitment... fidelity...between two consenting adults... maybe you're right ... I may be dumb...

i suggest you read this thread from begining to end, then comment on my comments nest ce pas? you cant jump in a conversation and expect to know what my position is, then have the audacity to call me out on my position when you do not know my position or argument.
