Agreed. Haitians will soon be telling us what to do. Because they know that there are certain jobs that Bahamians just won't do and we will be at their mercy.
tonymontana 05-27-08, - 12:39 PM Well at least if you understand the language, you can eaves drop on the plans for the revolution.
to late the revolution is in full swing we just have not caught on and by the time we do its an excepted defeat.

sapadilly 05-28-08, - 06:49 AM All yinna who won be biggity and say " Ain learning no creole" yinna jus lazy.
Yeah sap said it, LAZY! I havebeen learning Kreyole for over 1 year now. I have to admit it is not a hard language to learn, very practical; no bunch of congegation(sp), and male and female suffix an ting.
I cant wait to get back on dat aide of the world so I can practice. English is my first language (well actually Bahamian) and I am PROUD of that, but I also want to be able to speak to my non-english speaking students and their parents. Makes their learning english easier and the bonus is I will no longer be mono-lingual.
I did my first class at COB with Betty Vedrine (excellent teacher) but I was so disappointed in some of my classmates who just sat their and criticized the language they were paying to learn (actually govt. was paying). Anyway Ms. Verdrine fix dey hip for dem one day; she tell dem off in creole first den traslate inot the rawest Bahamian for dem stuck ones. I NEARLY DEAD!
U know we joke about this type of stuff, but Bahamians had better wake.. THE HAITIANS TAKING OVER.. JUST GO IN THE STRAW MARKET !!!:bouncy:
If Haitian do "take over" guess who allowed it? I sometimes laugh when I hear this statement. The only way the Haitians would work in the straw market is I am sure some Bahamian may have turned down the job or a Bahamian decided to hire them for cheap labour. Bahamians always complain about haitians but boy dey still hire them. When Loftus Roker was in charge of Immigration, he most take out every illegal immigrant dat was here. And ya know who cried the most, DA Bahamians. Nobody wanted their Haitian to be sent back home.

Your comment is precisely what is good about immigration. The hungry ones strive for success, reising the competitive level for all. "My Island Girl" wife and myself have had quite a few arguements and discussions about immigrants, illegal and legal.Naturally as a Bahamian her slant on the issue is not exactly mine when it comes to Haitians.Lucky for me I know when to zip my lip.lol:taped2:

PPL cried because Roker's policies didnt just "take-out" illegal immigrants, it also "took-out" persons here on work permits; supposedly to review them. At that time many teachers and other legal migrants had to return home and wait for a review of their work to be allowed to come back.
Nah ain nothing wrong with having a review policy, but you cant just revoke a a valid work permit just cause you want to revamp ya system. It was the method that was the problem, not the intent.
