View Full Version : PLPs Strangely Silent on the Budget
Lurker 05-29-08, - 10:13 AM I wonder why the PLPs are strangely silent on the budget.
Have they realised that Hubigetty has trumped them in the quest to become the party of the common man?
What about all of the invective that PLP's spewed about Hubigetty being for rich foreigners when this budget was all about the common Bahamian?
Or maybe the PLP saviour came and worked some PLP miracles -- he turned the blind people into deaf mutes.
So come on you PLPs. Let's hear what you have to say about the budget.

Man yesterday outside the House the PLP MPs including Perry Christie ran from the media like the plague when they asked them to comment on the budget. Obie Wilchcombe throughout the communication kept nodding his head in approval because he knew the budget was a good one.

It is not the time of the Budget Communication to be a vocal opposition. The budget debate is that time. What you heard was all the "good" in the budget, but none of tha bad. The opposition needs time to study the budget and debate the good versus the bad. I wouldn't take the silence yesterday to mean anything.

That wasnt the case last year. They had their press conference on the budget RIGHT AFTER the communication was tabled, and spoke about aspects of it they didnt approve of. This year they went running for cover.

That is also what was said on the news last night. Basically, all they had to say was that the PLP left the country in a good state, and the FNM is using their ideas. LOL. Obviously, they couldn't come up with anything to pinpoint and blow up fast enough. We'll see what today and tomorrow bring.

bahamiangoddess 05-29-08, - 12:23 PM You know they can't think on their feet, they have to form a consultative committee with the former Minister of Finance as the Chairman and then report on their findings.
They spent all of last night brain storming.
They ger have one big press conference and then they ger accuse the F.N.M of tiefing their ideas, not caring about poor people and making promises.
They they ger say Hubiggety can't fulfill these promises (as if they don't know the man does keep his words), and the people need more important things done.
The will also say that The F.N.M have failed so far, they are out of ideas and and they using "Our Plan" and they are clueless!
Then BJ ger be the spokesman, and the rest a dem ger stand around shaking they head and silently saying, "you tell em, BJ, you tell em."
Mark my words!
