Chile last time I heard he was trying his hand at all kind of things...he was supposed to import buses to lease to someone but it seems to have fallen thru the cracks. The buses were supposed to come out of Brazil and that was 3 years ago!

The Mango Initiative is a stored value card. You actually carry the money on the card. Lose the card and lose the money. The initiative is lead by PTAB (Public Transportation Association of the Bahamas) and Reuben Rahming, and over 60% of all of the buses will participate. If you notice, these are the buses that have uniformed drivers, who are professional, who do not drive like a bat out of hell, are all connected by radio, and the buses have advertising on the side, which makes big bucks for the drivers. Props to Rahming for bringing the Bahamas into the 21rst century as far as buses are concerned.
The good news is that the Mango card will be used for newspapers, wash houses, fast food and other things. It will carry up to $99 dollars on it.
So all the stores will be outfitted with the terminal. I don't wanna get a card and then find that I carn use it in most of the stores I frequent!

I will be going also so I will be picky. When they come to town I always do an activity with them that will last the entire day. I will park my car somewhere central and take the bus to town and back where my car is. Then we are supposed to go to Dolphin Encounter of Adastra Gdns. Mind u they are 4 and 21/2 but they look forward to hanging with Auntie!
One trip we spent the day at Good Fellow Farms lunch and the horses and they had a blast!

girl i heard their food is off the hook!!!!!!! :D and healthy too......

Yup I remember years ago telling my little sister who was a rather sheltered child to only take the Convenient buses one summer when she had to catch the bus after her summer job!

I had a good time on the Jitney service. I was dropped off in Palmdale while family did the stuff they had to do and I ended up driving boss around while we did errands. about 3pm he said we are done.

I called family and they were in Cable Beach going to a meeting in 30 minutes in Lyford Cay and they could not pick me up. Boss said, he ain't driving from Marathon to Adelaide, so I was stuck.

To make a long story short, $1 on bus to Blue Hill, then $1 on the 16A to Bacardi Rd. Another passenger and her daughter wanted also to go to Adelaide. The driver said he had a pick-up in Coral Harbour, so we stayed on.

Just before the circle, I asked if he would go to Adelaide for a tip. He got an extra $1 from each of us and we were home.

I got a kick out of the middle seats and how students and older passengers shuffle around at each stop. And also learned the term "Bus Stop" for when you want him to stop.

Cheaper than fuel these days unless you have specific stuff to do. POint A to B, a great service.

1992 happened to them; they lost the monopoly for the route, and all that cash that went with it.
