Seems from the news that Cabbage Beach was not closed to Bahamians...I guess they just monitored those using the access paths.

Based on the newscast that just aired a segment on the new security measures at the beach, there was no measure to deny access, just to deter a repeat of the Whit Monday holiday.

I just watch the NEWS on this beach story and according to the news the beach was not closed and patrons who were interviewed, said that they were glad for the extra security and had a good time!

Hopefully they did the same thing at all of the major beaches on New Providence, because it shouldn't just be those beaches that are visited by tourists that get this kind of attention. Too many reports of fights and anti-social behaviour on holidays, and a police presence should be well received by all families that would like to take their children to the beach on a holiday.

I doubt it. They did what they planned to do and that was increase security. I am sure they would have thrown anyone off the beach that misbehaved.
