You sure is ask for plenny! BOL
You mentioned NYC, what cleaned up NYC was Guiliani's zero tolerance for quality of life issues. Having lived there through his administrations, it was tough going at first, but the results far outweighed the initial discomfort.
his policy was simple; empower ppl by making them value their personal lives and experiences. That meant, if music was playing loud after 11pm on a week night, the police knocked on your door. No more public drinking; no exposed or open alcohol beverages on the streets, subways, buses, etc. Cars with loud sound systems, ticketed and impounded if the owner didnt take care of it. Got parking tickets? you get ya car towed. Walk your dog and forget to pick up the poops? Ya get a ticket and perhaps a bench warrant if ya dont pay ya fine or appear in court.
festivals and Carnivals; no DRINKING and HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE TO ENFORCE IT!
I could go on. NYers really didnt like it at the time, but by the time his second term came around, you could see the difference in the city.
I think that is what is needed in the Bahamas; a STRICT stand on QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUES. Once you get people to change they come to appreciate it.

Need some one with the will and guts to implement. I dont think either party has what it takes.

Don't be an AZZ! If persons are on those beaches committing crimes then arrest and prosecute them. Don't say everyone with the same nationality of the trouble makers should be banned! That is facist, racist, nazi thinking! Are you Hitler.
Problem areas can be cleaned up. It has been done before:
Rudy Guliani cleaned up NY. He didn't do it by banning all New Yorkers. He did it by dealing with the trouble makers! The Fish Fry used to be an extremely dangerous place to be. Police cleaned it up by putting a station there and restrictions like a no bottle rule! they didn't clean it up by banning bahamians!
The tracks used to be a violent place! Bahamians cleaned it up by organizing it properly. They did not do it by banning all bahamians!
Free your mind!

Whe just keep on handing over our rights, and my belief is we need to deal with slackness at all levels starting at the TOP!
