Again, the innocent suffering for the guilty few.

That's one way to look at it. Mr. Kerzner is not a politician. He is a business man. I dont agree with his decision to close the beach, but maybe he had no other option.

Yall need to make Sol build one cabana out there with a proper entrance, bathrooms and security.

Like licks say, make his life miserable. Since they dont want yall on the beach, so go to the MARKET PLACE. Crowd up in there, take ya own food, have a party. See we have the right to be there to, so errybody pack up Market place tonight, but dont buy A TING.

Lurker,
Are you in the Bahamas? You gave a description as if you were there. Either or, the person who told you, has a very good knack for the detail!
Sad though, one little murder, and its spoiled for the rest of us. But, it should be open again, after all of the heat of these fights. Bahamians have a knack, for doing things in double- this is a safety precaution, and not a permament fixture; I hope!
I was wondering whether he was in Nassau too...
Nevertheless, I wonder if they would have banned Bahamians from Down Town after that drive by...even though what I said is definately silly and moreso assinine...my reasoning is that their outlook on this murder issues flawed and rediculous at best...

Anyone call jones yet...

Licks I agree with you to an extent. but "iffin Cabbage beach is our beach, why we is treat it so?"

If the privilege (yes it is a privilege, by law, because the government can easily privatise beaches) to access every beach in our country is extended to bahamians, why do the majority of bahamians continue to disrespect it?

instead of throwing bahamians off of the beach wholesale, why not just install lifeguard-style stations with beach monitors every few miles.

i'm with lincoln, in that visitors can be just as decadent as bahamians when they don't think they're being watched ... not that their behavior justifies bahamian trashing of the beaches whatsoever.

youth...
ah to be young again...
so you are suggesting that perhaps he had no choice but to break the law...hmmm...he has no choice but to ban black Bahamians off the beach...

I am sure come money they will have a pretty spin on this story...about how only one or two person weren't allowed on the beach but not the majority of Bahamians...But as Bahamians we do not deman enough from our investors...

By now, an entire bathroom facility should be on Cabbage beach...that is what good corporate citizens do. By there should have been paid parking on P.I...let me take that back, there is...Bahamians cheap though...they just dont want pay the $5 dollars...But Bahamians do need a place to piss though....Sol needs to build a toilet for Bahamians...Why...so we don't piss and shizz next to his/ah tourists dem.

but how can we ensure that this doesnt happen?

simple: act like civilised people when we go to public places.

so that we dont have to come to this :

Point well taken. What else could have been done? in time for the labour day holiday that is?

two different issues here...
if gubment them want privatize the beaches them, then do it, don't threaten us with it...but until then, the beaches are public...that being said...we have a right to be on the beach...if there is an issue with policing the beach, then hire guards to monitor them and enforce the law...don't blame the public for government flaws...In the US they have beach wardens...Bahamians needs jobs...i am sure a few of them wouldn't mind being a beach warden...
