View Full Version : Cabbage Beach Closed To Bahamians canewry 06-06-08, - 03:43 PM mudda sik newry. that hurt. :taped2: 'pose to... I making nerse for yall younggin licks2 06-06-08, - 03:45 PM Licks I agree with you to an extent. but "iffin Cabbage beach is our beach, why we is treat it so?" If the privilege (yes it is a privilege, by law, because the government can easily privatise beaches) to access every beach in our country is extended to bahamians, why do the majority of bahamians continue to disrespect it? Sol found ways of working with da government ta "move" every other obsticle dat stood in he way. . .accordin ta law. . .but every nah and again heem tryna "sneg" one pass we!!! Member wid da phase 3/ 5 million penalty heem een wan pay and den say HI was doin heem bad? Heem tried dat one when heen tot HI was vulnarable in 2001 and 2!! Heem jumped on da bandwagon of sayin HI is mean and too hard!!! Heem cried "poor moff" bout payin 5 mill ta da bahamian people while braggin bout all dem millions he made fer heem shareholders dem!!! Heem jumping on dis "fear and disdain" fer crime innda nation ta do sometin heem wan do long time!! BUT I SAY HELL NO!!!!! Da day any govenment "moves" ta take dese beaches from "da peoples dem". . .will be da fers government trown out of power by force in da bahamian history!!! I tink dem know dat right well!!!:hammer: Dis ting nah een gat notin ta do wid killin, keepin beache clean or who nasty.. .tis bout law and "national" RIGHT. . . NOT PREVILEDGE. . .ER LEGAL RIGHT!!!!!:cutie::hammer: casualobserver 06-06-08, - 03:45 PM BAHAIMIANS?!!! Have you ever seen how some those tourist (spring breakers and others) carry on over there. I worked PI for over a year as a police officer and I can assure you that we had more problems from foreigners than from Bahamians. We need to stop being prejudiced. The vast majority of Bahamians just want to go over there in peace and enjoy their beach. Trust me they lucky I wasn't there. I would have run all those security and police and enjoyed our beach that we inherited! I'll bet you those security would have let a white tourist family walk past them and go on the beach. They would have probably put on a big negro smile for them and helped them with their bags. How many murders and disturbances happen on Miami beach every year. Do you think they would then close their beach to Americans!!! This Bull sh!t needs to stop!!! And it will!!! Ain Long!!! The condos along the beach have their own areas and no, you cannot use their land to get to the beach. You cannot land a boat on the beach. Only guests and condo owners are allowed to use certain portions of the strip in Ft. Lauderdale above the high-tide mark. Don't even think about using a cabana or lounge chair either! It does happen! songbird 06-06-08, - 03:46 PM All depends on who the police works for... It is clear that the police was called in...and the police is enforcing the law...therefore some kind of paper work was shown to them. Let the paper work be made public...photocopy versions of it. sounds like a job for the Bahamas Democratic Movement. Anyway, just spoke to a contact in the newsroom at ZNS, seeing what they were doing about reporting the story. they said that it's not actually closed to the public, just more police presence, since the young man got stabbed. they're going out there later on today....... Brown Suga 06-06-08, - 03:46 PM next thing people ga say, Bahamians should be ban from Florida because some Bahamians don't turn in their rental cars... frigging hogwash... U are going a bit too far...we all know in life the innocent sufers for the guilty! Kerzner just had to stop the preteens and teenagers from frequenting Marina Village unaccompanied...how come no one kicking up a fuss about that. The same scenario, they go over there and misbeahve, but of course parents are to blame for droppin their kids off for Marina Village to babysit them! Lincoln 06-06-08, - 03:49 PM :jawdroop: then who are those people that i see at private parties???????? IMPOSTERS! :hammer: They shouldn't be at private parties in the Governments police car. canewry 06-06-08, - 03:49 PM This is what is killing our country. We have descended to the level of the uncouth. In the past Bahamians had less money and more CLASS, the older Bahamians are being replaced by the new "breed" proudly referred to as the Jungalist, who has more money and LESS CLASS. The Jungalists behave just as the word suggests, like wild animals that live in the Jungle. Sadly, this arrogance that we demonstrate by declaring that we are entitled to behave however we wish, without regard for the implications to our country and fellow Bahamians, is what is destroying our society at its core. Licks2 shows himself to be a part of our country's PROBLEM, not the solution. If we continue along this destructive path and our country's economy is wrecked, we'll wish we addressed this disease called the Jungalist Mentality a lot sooner. Webster's Dictionary of Terms Jungalist - of or related to wild animals of the jungle, who inhabit human societies; Listen here muddo... Good decent Bahamians perhaps are being ban from a public beach. Even though I haven't been on Cabbage Beach in 20 years...the very idea of knowing the beach is available to me is comforting... If by your argument, you are suggesting that good decent Bahamians should no longer enjoy certain things in the Bahamas until the rest of them bad Bahamians get their lives in order, then eventually Bahamians will enjoy nothing within this country. songbird 06-06-08, - 03:51 PM They shouldn't be at private parties in the Governments police car. or in the government police uniform, with teh government police gun, and the government police shoes. :hammer: canewry 06-06-08, - 03:51 PM U are going a bit too far...we all know in life the innocent sufers for the guilty! The same scenario, they go over there and misbeahve, but of course parents are to blame for droppin their kids off for Marina Village to babysit them! that's see Marina village... however, that's a Bahamian beach... And in truth there are too many Bahamians, young and old who does frequent the Marina Village... Clancy Wiggum 06-06-08, - 03:52 PM It is a generalisation! U are excused. During the summer....on Sunday evenings take on a project to drive out west to Goodman's Bay and observe...unfortunately the ones who do misbehave make it bad for the rest of us! yeah, that's the problem right there! Maybe you should think from the perspective of the rest of us, and not from the point of view of those that "misbehave". canewry 06-06-08, - 03:53 PM sounds like a job for the Bahamas Democratic Movement. See, nah everything sorted out... or better yet, the spin on it is out. now it is up to what you believe... Brown Suga 06-06-08, - 03:55 PM that's see Marina village... however, that's a Bahamian beach... And in truth there are too many Bahamians, young and old who does frequent the Marina Village... What Bahamas u live in! Of course Bahamians frquent Marina Village! I go there to eat often and it is a public place! They have junkanoo on Friday and Sat and there are lots of Bahamians! There is also a live Bahamian band on the weekends! It a really nice place to go. Not to mention the stores like JOhn Bull etc! U need to go out some more! There is Johnny Rokes, Bimini Rd (my Fav) Carmines, The Pizzeria, Starbucks, Murrays, Haagen Daz, The Steak House, Cfe M! And Bahamian go to alla dem! songbird 06-06-08, - 03:55 PM See, nah everything sorted out... or better yet, the spin on it is out. now it is up to what you believe... yup all in a day's work. seriously newry, as an activist party, what is the Bahamas Democratic Movement going to do? I've always believed that activists and the press are the defenders of the people's rights, when the government has short memory loss......... canewry 06-06-08, - 03:55 PM Sol found ways of working with da government ta "move" every other obsticle dat stood in he way. . .accordin ta law. . .but every nah and again heem tryna "sneg" one pass we!!! Only guests and condo owners are allowed to use certain portions of the strip in Ft. Lauderdale above the high-tide mark. Don't even think about using a cabana or lounge chair either! It does happen! I am one of those condo owners. But you are missing the point! If NO one has access then NO one should have access! They would never inforce a rule in ft Lauderdale stating that foreigners can come in but floridians can't. Ft Lauderdale has a tourism economy also! but that would never happen there! |
