a green space (http://www.green-space.org.uk/)is a phenominal idea for downtown nassau...i saw knock down those dilapatated properties over the hill(which arent or couldnt be considered historic or cant be preserverd) and add a few more green spaces to the landscape...good on the ingraham administration!

While they at it they need to knock down the whole of Okra hill and build one real shopping complex and a water park, add a straw market, and maybe get some tourists over the bridge from PI. They could put up some nice inexpensive apartments for any of the "normal" residents that live there. :hammer:

well thats great news! now what are they gonna do with that spot where the straw vendors are once they move? i hope they turn that into green space as well or a heroes memorial garden.

That's the same thing i was thinking! Make it a history park........put different eras of our country in different sections........that would be tres cool! you know, like Arawak Indian era in one area, Spanish invasion another, British invasion (colonisation) american loyalist invasion, 19th and 20th century industries, straight on to today........

Yall better do it before people liek Gail Saunders pass on. seems like they and a select few are the only persons who are concerned with the preservation and passing on of history in our nation.

"Ports" is the orgininal Atlantis Marina Village.....sans prostitutes...

BOR......

There are great resturats...Luciano's (I dont think its the same one on East Bay), The Pub at Port Lucaya and many others. And then there are some resturants at Our Lucaya across the street. There is also a sweet conch salad stand just outside of the bandstand by the marina. Cant wait to go back home this weekend.

I think bay street could use some green space, among other things.

The straw market is an embrassment. Last time I been in there I aint see no bahamians or any thing bahamian for sale...and I've been seeing some beautiful straw work around but not in the straw market. When I bring my friends from the states home with me the straw market is not a stop on my list.

Can someone tell me where I can find a nice straw bag to carry back with me? I am in love with some of these new designs I seeing on ladies arms around town. I was told they coming from Long Island.
