This is a documentary produced by Wyclef Jean on life in Haiti through the eyes of two brothers who are involved in Haitian Gangs. The film has not yet been released it will be out in July 2007. I am hoping that it will be allowed here at RND. I think it will open the eyes of the Bahamian people to the plight of the Haitian people and they will be able to see why things are the way there are there and why we are now experiencing a change in the behaviours of our children here.

Why should we be scared? Why do we have to fear our own people when we speak against Haitians? This is the Bahamas, and we should stand together against things that are not in our best interest. He wasnt ga get no job, I refuse to hire them, dey seem to have their own union, so many get paid more than bahamians... I'm sick of it...
Call me racist n the rest, I dun care, I kno that my passport having the Bahamian Crest means this is my country. I shouldnt have to be scared to go out in the night cause these legals, illegals or watever are not attuned to our ways. WE AS BAHAMIANS SHOULD NOT BEND TO THEM! They should be removed, by force if required. THey dont pay taxes, grow their own food, hell, cause they livin on crown land in the MUDD, they have their own generating plant. and wat gets me, is they wont remove them all, illegals, in illegal houses, they should be all sent back, and that place bulldozed and made into a park for bahamians. For those of you who want to make this a black, white issue I promise you it is not. Its a Bahamian issue as they are trying to force the Bahamians out of the schools. The haitians have just about taken over Abaco and no-one seems to be doing anything about it, not immigration or any other department, almost nightly you can hear the guns being fired off but no-one will go into the mud or pigeon peas to investigate.They have their own restaurant, bars,night clubs, electricity, dress shops and whatever else that you can think of and no-one will put a stop to it.
The stabbings are happening quite frequently and breakins and boat theft are the norm these days.
Its too late to put the blame on anyone except the government that is in power to try and rectify the problem and they do not seems interested.

I don't like the idea of people throwing "prejudiced" label simply because the issue of "Haitian-Bahamians" in the school is raised. People have some legitimate concerns, and it should not simply be labelled as that.

My problem is with my friend's worker who has brought his children from Haiti and schooled them here - ok. But that's not where he stopped, he now has brought in his brother's 3 children so that they can get an education here too. I'm torn, because on a personal level, I know that he wants what's best for his family, but what does that do to my country, if every Haitian worker decides to do this?
I don't know what we're going to do in Abaco, but we do have a lot of students and recent graduates who are running around causing some problems in our little island. We also have some AWESOME Haitian students who are kind, generous and treasures of our island. I don't like putting them all in the same pot.

The boats are coming in here with new ones almost daily.
I do my own landscaping and mowing (by choice)and I will bet you last Sunday I had at least 6 stop and ask if I wanted them to work and when I asked for them to show me their Bahamian papers first, 2 of them cursed me out.
I do not know what can be done but Bahamians think what you want and say what you will about Abaco but if something is not done soon we will be the ones floating or sailing into Florida.
I will bet that there are more of them then there are of us in Abaco.

why don't you get a lawyer check on their citizenship that way you can feel important. While you at it check your buddies citizenship as well.
